Heather Locklear is part Native American From the August 23rd Parade:

Walter Scott's
PERSONALITY
PARADE

Q I belong to a Native American tribe called the Lumbee, and Locklear is a common last name. That makes me wonder: Is Heather Locklear part Native American? - Tanoi Daniels, Clearwater, Fla.

A Yes, she is. Locklear, 36, who plays the terminally selfish Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place, was amazed when we posed your question to her. "I am part Lumbee - way, way back on my father's side," she told us. Her maternal ancestors were predominantly Scottish. Incidentally, our sources at Melrose Place says we'll be seeing a softer, gentler Amanda this season.

The only softer, gentler side to Amanda we'll see will probably be her hair. L'Oreal has added new conditioners to her hair dye.
