My comments on the April 12th episode of The Place
Hi guys:

A thoroughly entertaining show last night. It's episodes like these that will make me miss The Place when it is all over.

Lexi arrived at Michael's apartment to discuss their plot of her getting Ryan and he getting Megan. If Lexi hadn't slapped Ryan last week, there would have been no need for the discussion.

Out in the courtyard, Megan bumped into Ryan and talked about their failed relationship. Megan accused Ryan of intentionally sabotaging their relationship. Woman's intuition - oooh, scary. She said something happened in NY to cause their break up.

I would have taken the opportunity to come clean. "I promised my daughter after I killed her mother that I would never marry again. So we can continue to have marathon sex sessions without me legally obligating you to half my belongings. Or not." He opted for the "or not" before he even gave her a choice.

Ryan went to the basketball court where Kyle was nailing down his fade-away jump shots. He shot pretty fly for a white guy. Anyway, as Kyle was leaving, Michael arrived and wanted to high-five him. Kyle left him hanging. That was funny.

Megan accepted Amanda's job offer. I guess that means she doesn't have to be a hooker again. Amanda admitted that she hired her so that she could help steal Lexi's clients. Amanda said she needed cutthroats. All her employees - Jane, Ryan and the other two people that work for her - were wimps. Megan said she could do it. She could be ruthless. Megan, the hooker with the heart of gold, ruthless? Yeah, right.

Some guy walked into AWA and made Amanda an offer for The Place. Full asking price. I'm thinking he would have made the offer to the realtor. That was the only info on the "For Sale" sign. How would he know that it was Amanda that was selling the place and where she worked?

At the Jazz Club, Kyle was waiting for a delivery when Eve showed up. What was she doing there? Kyle fired her a few weeks ago.

Since Kyle had to leave to see about his dream house, he asked Eve to take care of the place. In fact, he asked her to be the manager and offered her a partnership in the Club. She said yes.

Now if I was stinkin' rich, I wouldn't be managing some two-bit club. I'd sit on my couch in front of the TV sucking down beers and eating Cheesy Poofs. Wait a minute. That's what I already do and I'm not rich.

Pretending to be Ryan's friend, Michael brought some beers over to Ryan's place. While Ryan wasn't looking, Michael dropped a roofie into Ryan's brew and knocked him out. Then he and Lexi searched the place for clues as to what he did in NY. Lucky for them, Ryan kept his airline ticket, his map of Poughkeepsie and his visitor's pass to St. Agnes School all in one place.

So Lexi and Michael wing their way to Poughkeepsie where they discover that St. Agnes is very exclusive. No visitors except for relatives and other clergy. So what do they do? They steal a priest and a nun outfit. Now I'm probably going to burn in hell for saying this, but Lexi still looked hot in that nun outfit.

Jane went to pitch the account of a guy, Jim, who converted churches into art galleries. Jim was a really quick operator. He and Jane were rolling around on one of his paintings in no time flat.

The line of the week goes to little Sarah McBride. Lexi snuck into her room and admitted that she wasn't really a nun. She said that she knew her daddy. That she was in love with him. To which Sarah replied, "You mean you're Megan?" Too funny.

Jim went to AWA to tell Jane that he was ready to sign with the agency. He also told her he loved her and asked her to marry him. After one roll on the canvas, the guy was smitten. Talk about your fatal attractions.

Jane turned down his proposal but agreed that she would consider a relationship. He asked her out for dinner and invited himself over to her place. She agreed to this, too. Yeah, let the psycho know where you live.

At a hospital board meeting, Peter announced that he had bought the hospital. He would be selling shares to the nurses and doctors so that Wilshire Memorial would be an employee-run hospital. Dr. Shulman went to Peter and assumed she was fired. Instead, Peter offered her a seat on the board if she would invest $200,000. I'd have fired the bitch.

Psycho Jim showed up at Jane's house for dinner with a change of clothes and a toothbrush. He assumed he would be spending the night. Wishful thinking. Jane sent him packing.

Megan snuck into Sterling Conway to steal some files. She caught two employees in flagrante delicto. They were afraid that Megan would tell Lexi. They said Lexi frowns upon stuff like that. I beg to differ. She lives on stuff like that. Anyway, thay said they would do anything to buy Megan's silence.

The new owner of The Place sent notices to all the tenants calling for a meeting. And much to everyone's surprise, Lexi was the new owner. She announced she would bring the fun back to The Place with barbecues and pool parties. Just like the good old days when everyone liked each other way back in Season One.

No one seemed too happy. Especially Amanda, who was given her 30-day eviction notice. Amanda should have gotten back at her by saying, "Thank you bitch for helping to finance my dream house."

With the assistance of the screwing employees, Megan was able to steal away Jacobi Toys. Lexi was about to go at it with Megan when Michael stepped in and saved her. My hero. Megan agreed to have drinks with Michael to celebrate winning the account as long as they don't end up on the roof again. Remember what happened the last time they got drunk?

Kyle told Ryan that he and Amanda were moving in with Jane. Good thing Jane had the foresight to add an extra bedroom.

Ryan told Kyle that Sarah wrote to him releasing him from his promise not to marry again. Kyle urged Ryan to tell Megan immediately.

At the beach house, Amanda learned that Psycho Jim decided not to sign with AWA. Amanda got pissed and blew up at Jane. Talk about gratitude. Jane was putting her up and she has a hissy fit. I'd have tossed the bitch out.

So Ryan went to tell Megan that he was free from his vow to his daughter. Megan said it was a bad time for the explanation. If so, why'd she let him in? It certainly was a bad time. Ryan discovered a naked Michael in her closet. At least he didn't come crashing through the roof.

That's it for this week. Check out my site for the spoiler for next week's episode, "The Daughterboy."

I also have an article from The Star detailing Heather Locklear's messy divorce from Tommy Lee.

Soap Opera Digest had a nice interview with Alexandra Paul. They also gave Amanda and Kyle's reunion a Thumbs Up.

And American Woman ran a feature on Rena Sofer.

'Til next week...
