Best, Worst and Least Dressed of 1999 From the January Best, Worst & Least Dressed of '99:

It's been a year in which all-out glamour ruled the red carpets at premiers and award shows as she stars strutted their buff stuff in ultra-stylish ensembles. Pretty woman Julia Roberts not only had back-to-back box-office blockbusters, but her elegant wardrobe - complete with the year's must have accessory, the luxe pashmina wrap - also made her a big winner. Oscar nominee Cate Blanchett failed to snare a gold statuette, but was a true champion of chic in a delicate, embellished designer gown that fit her like a second skin. But not everybody deserved applause. Some celebs wore outfits so outlandish you'd think they wouldn't want to be caught dead in them, while others flashed so much flesh they might as well have shown up naked. On these and the following pages, we've chosen 1999's best, worst and least dressed stars. See if you agree with our picks - because rating fashion's hits and misses is always in style.

bestdressed
The rest of the Best Dressed were Cate Blanchett, Sophia Loren, Rene Russo, Debra Messing, Christina Applegate, Catherine Bell, Julia Roberts, Portia de Rossi, Minnie Driver, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Heather Graham, Faith Hill, Kristen Johnston, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Uma Thurman.
worstdressed
The rest of the Worst Dressed were Christina Aguilera, Gillian Anderson, Fran Drescher, Faith Hill (she was also a Best Dressed winner - go figure), Lara Flynn Boyle, Bebe Neuwirth, Cher, The Dixie Chicks, Courtney Love, Raquel Welch, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, Sarah Jessica Parker and Celine Dion.

Heather wasn't cited for her fashion atrocity (her top looked like my toilet seat cover) at VH1's VMA. Her only mention involved her shoes:

Stepping out in my strappy sandals
