Meet
Dumbledore
A/N: Chappie 2 neh! I
hope ya like it. And… Gw harap klu ada yang ahli bahasa
inggris, please correct my grammar… temen-temen pada bilang,
klu dibaca sepintas emang kliatan kayak ahli nyeritain
cerita tapi pas dibaca ulang, there’s something wrong with
it. So, please oh please… I need some criticisms. My
English is not that good,
though it sounded right.
I mean, I’m just a kid ya know… My age is not even reaching
15 yet! Well I guess next year I will
…Did I just do something wrong?
I watched Ron’s eyes widening wider every second. I saw
Harry’s astonishment, but the worse thing was—Hermione
didn’t really look so pleasant. She looked dumbfounded,
watched her eyes staring at me… It was just so scary. The
thing that made me the creeps was that, there’s a very odd
atmosphere going around. There’s an uncomfortable silence
that I really loathed all along since I was born. Okay, that
was a bit too much, maybe since I started to learn how to
use slang words.
“Aren’t we going… in?” I asked, curious of what would
Dumbledore look like and scared that they’ll kill me with
Avada Kedavra spell knowing that I knew what would happen
towards Harry.
Hermione was about to say something then Ron interrupted,
“Umm… Here’s a thing, I really have to ask. Erm, you said
that the novelist wrote about Harry’s year in Hogwarts from
first year. Does that mean you know anything what would
happen about me and Hermione?”
I looked at them in a weird expression. What are they hiding
about? Then I said, “Well you three are best friends, of
course the novelist would tell what’s happening towards you
and Hermione. I mean it’s Harry’s POV.”
“POV?”
“Point of view.”
“Oh, okay,” Harry said rather in pleasurable voice, “in year
2006, huh?”
“No, no, you don’t know what I mean,” I said laughing, “The
novelist is talking about your year back in 1990 where you
started school, right? So, yeah. And they started to film
the book from… around 1999 or 2000 or 2001 I don’t really
know.”
“Still famous,” Ron smirked.
I grinned, “So are we going in? I’m so thrilled to see
Dumbledore.”
“Wait,” Hermione said, “This is all a joke, right?”
“What do you mean a joke?” Ron asked her quickly.
“Well, I bet you’re just some student from Ravenclaw or
something. You’re trying to play smart on us. Think that
you’d trick us? I don’t think so,” Hermione said coldly, “Or
maybe you’re just… Are you using Poly-Juice potion?”
“Hell no!” I said, “I could tell from the movie that Potion
is some heck of a potion. I won’t sacrifice myself tasting
that awful stuff! Well, I guess Jr.Bart—”
I stopped talking, I knew I shouldn’t say that. The story is
repeating itself. They just started their year, they didn’t
know what’ll happen… yet. About all the bizarre things
happening, like Voldemort being back and Harry becoming the
fourth triwizard tournament… What would I say to them?
“See,” Hermione said having her know-it-all face showed up,
“I told you she’s hiding something. I know that you’re just
faking it. Just confess.”
I was slightly mad, well… I get a bit aggressive somehow if
someone does not believe me. I mean, Hermione is one of a
character that I really like in the book. Why’d she turned
out to be so… mad all the time?
“Here’s a thing,” I started, “Do you know, that I know a
secret that you three are hiding? That all of the people
that are in this school don’t know?”
Harry looked as if he was bracing himself. He was scared
about something, which I frantically knew.
“Exactly, Harry,” I said as if I was reading his mind,
“Sirius Black. He’s hiding somewhere, he won’t tell you.
Peter Pettigrew actually being alive till now, being a
betrayal for your parents, Harry. And, well…”
“I think you heard enough,” there’s a voice of an old man
behind me. The voice sounded cool and—it was Dumbledore. The
person that I really want to meet all along. Just like the
person that was described from the book. He had these pure
blue nice eyes, with long crooked nose that was pushed by a
moon shaped or half circle spectacles. His long hair and
beard that was pure white and looked like silk look so okay
on him.
“Well, well,” he started now smiling, “Aren’t you four
coming in?”
I was still staring at him, it was a really nice view to be
looked at. I really admired him all along. He’s like my
grandfather or something. I really want to hug him, could I?
I still could see a terror face approaching on Harry’s face.
I hope I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t mean to say
something like that. I mean, what prove could I say to show
that I really don’t belong in this world?
I stood in front of Dumbledore’s table just like Hermione,
Ron and Harry. My heart was pounding so loud. I observed the
room, it was magnificent. There are these curious things
that you really want to put a hand of yours to touch it and
play with it for ages.
“So, so,” Dumbledore started, “I just some conversation
about you four, so you are?”
“Urvi.”
“Not to be rude or anything, I wasn’t actually asking your
name,” Dumbledore chuckled as my cheeks went all red, “But
it’s pleasure to see you, and really nice blue hair you got
there. But, is it true that I just heard? Or is it just me
that just ate some Bertie Botts’ every flavour beans
flavoured ear wax?”
I chuckled of what Dumbledore said, I knew I’d get along
with him fast. He’s so outgoing.
“You don’t even like Bertie Botts’,” I said as I smiled and
still was chuckling, “I remembered in the first year you
said that you always get unfortunate flavours from the beans
so you didn’t really like it.”
“Alas, you’re right.”
“And the time Harry was in the Hospital Wing, you tried a
bean and you got ear wax!”
“Quite right, quite right,” Dumbledore said calmly, but I
could really tell that he has this same feeling about
curiosity of my knowledge about Harry Potter world,
“Marvellous, Harry. You got yourself a friend that could
tell your future.”
Harry just smiled unwillingly. I know how he feels. Having
someone know what’s he’s future going to be. I bet he must
be hatred me in any second. I don’t like this.
“So, you agree, Professor?” Hermione started talking, “That
she’s actually not lying?”
“To tell you the truth, this is kind of odd. It never
happened ever before. Don’t you think it’s a bit uncommon
that a girl with no power but strength of a muggle could get
inside Hogwarts? I don’t think so. She knows all this things
because she read books about Harry. Things of out of the
ordinary like this could happen because of some reasons. It
might be she’s here to help someone in this world or maybe
this is one of Voldemort’s other new killing strategy to
kill Harry.”
Gulp. I gulped. Blink. I blinked. I really love the time
Dumbledore gives Harry advice or explanations. He gives the
impression of being so knowledgeable. He’s really cool.
There was this brain stop in my head happening, it’s so
weird, but I really like it. Then I focused.
“No, I don’t think that this is one of Voldemort’s strategy
of killing Harry,” I said as I glanced towards Ron. He was
horror struck—maybe because I said the
V word. “Besides,
there’s this… Dumble—I mean, Professor Dumbledore, can I
have a word with you. Four
eyes? ”
“Certainly,” he said as if he knew something was going on.
I watched Hermione, Ron and Harry left. After the door was
closed I looked back towards Dumbledore.
“So,” I said as I heaved a breath, “Maybe the thing that you
said was correct. Maybe I’m here for a certain reason. To
save people. To save… You.”
He looked a bit appalled of what did I just said. His calm
face gave a shocking look that was a bit uncertain.
“Now, now,” he said having his face cleansed again with his
usual look, “I bet there’s stories that you’re going to tell
me and you’re so eager about it.”
“Without doubt,” I heaved a chuckle, “Anyway—”
I told everything. Everything that’d happen. Everything
who’s dead and who’s the killer. Saying that Voldemort is
rising in his pride in the end of Harry’s fourth year. It
was a bit hard when I was saying about the sixth year. I
mean, the next victim is Dumbledore. He watched my mouth
moving so fast. Blurting all the words. Waiting for the next
sentence after I paused. I was nearly there, the time
Dumbledore got killed.
“…The time you and Draco Malfoy with couple of Death Eaters
and that Greyback dude had a conversation with Harry hidden
in the invisible cloak,” I continued, “Erm, Professor, could
I have a drink?”
“Indeed,” Dumbledore smiled, “Water perhaps?”
“I think Pepsi is great,” I said.
“Pepsi?” Dumbledore repeated my word.
“Oh sorry, I forgot,” I said, “Sure, water is fine.”
Dumbledore smiled then flicked his wand. A goblet was there,
filled with water. I drank the water then I continued, “As I
was saying… Snape. He came and… Killed you.”
He was knocked for six. I knew that expression would happen.
I mean, having this real loyal teacher beside you. Said that
he regretted of what he did being a Death Eater. I know he
felt so petrified and so… betrayed?
He didn’t say a word. His mind was up to something, or
either thinking about disloyalty and betrayal that Snape
would do in sixth year.
“Professor,” I continued, “I know it’s a bit shocking, even
I was reading the book I cried so hard when I read the word
Avada Kedavra spell. But, it’s already in the book. I don’t
know if I have to change it or anything… Maybe that’s my job
to be here. To change everything. To prevent death of
Cedric’s, Sirius and… Well, you.”
“Definitely,” Dumbledore said, but then something changed
his mind and went vice versaly, “There is this question
popping in my head. What if we let this entire thing happen?
What if we let everything go the way it goes? We can’t
defeat death. I’d lay a wager that maybe you’re here to warn
me. But, I really have to let this whole mania go. We have
to let go. Urvi, you’re maybe here to have a little
adventure. Maybe you’re here to look around. But I really am
glad I met you. Maybe this conversation was meant to be. You
and me. Thank you. But to top it all off, I am quite sure I
couldn’t forward time. It’s against the law. I am quite sure
you’d find a clue around Hogwarts when you walk around here
and there. You might be back to your own world. But the
betrayal, the gather around of the dark magic… we have to
let go and wait.”
I nodded, then I said, “How about Snape? Aren’t you at least
going to fire him?”
“I told you Urvi,” Dumbledore said, now in the tone of a
whisper, “We have to let it go.”
“Right,” I said, I was about to leave the room—having my
back already backing Dumbledore then I turned around,
“Professor, there’s this eager that I really wanted to do it
all along when I read that you were dead.”
“What is it?”
I walked towards him and hugged him then I said, “I really
am going to miss you, Professor Dumbledore.”
I saw his smile then let go off me from his brace. I felt a
little bit calm now. I can’t believe I met the real
Dumbledore, and I actually hugged him! I mean, even Harry
that was so close to Dumbledore didn’t have by any chance to
hug him! I thought I was a bit crazy that time but oh well…
What’s done is done... I turned around then walked towards
the door as I pushed Godric’s door knob then I heard
Dumbledore saying, “I tip off you once again, Urvi. No
spoiling the story.”
I turned around once again, and then smiled.
“And today’s your sorting house. Since you’re to come as
another student of mine,” Dumbledore said as he smiled
calmly.
I shrieked inside. I danced inside. I’m so happy.
The time the gargoyle jumped off and closed the path towards
Dumbledore’s office I smiled towards Hermione, Ron and Harry
that was waiting on the deserted corridor.
“That took awhile,” Ron exhaled noisily, “What were you two
talking about anyways?”
“Nothing in particular, just asking how did my hair turned
out so blue,” I said grinning, “Well, I actually dyed it in
any colour I want every week.”
“And what you smiling about?” Harry asked.
“Tonight they’re going to sort what house I’m in.”
