I have a Millie Patterson who married a Richard
Hampton probably sometime in the early 1800s.
Rumor has it they were both from the Carolinas,
but who knows. At some point they moved to Madison
Co. TN, near an area called Duck Creek. Their children
were: William, Anderson, Joe, Annie, and Mitch.
Anderson was born in 1818 and William, which is ours,
was born 7 March 1827. William and Anderson went to
Washington Co. IL. William and family moved
to Texas in 1866.

I am looking for Millie Patterson and Richard Hampton's
parents, siblings, etc.

my family as far back as 1770. I will list some
of the info below.

I am searching for the family of my great uncle,
Herbert Thomas Patterson. He was born in 1906.
in Brooklyn, NY and was one of 5 brothers.
He moved to CA after WW II and I have learned
that he had at least 3 children: Thomas b. 1945,
William b. 1947, and Carolyn b. 1948. I have
done everything I could think of to try and get leads.

The following is what I have:
John Edward Patterson Jr. b. 1968 (Brooklyn, NY)

John Edward Patterson Sr. b. 1939 (Brooklyn, NY)

Perry VanDyke Patterson b. 1912 (Brooklyn, NY)

George Patterson b. 1871 (Coalisland, Co. Tyrone,

I'm desperately searching for information on
a Mary Jane (Jennie) Patterson born in 1959
in Florida, probably Leon or Jefferson counties
(Tallahassee, Monticello, Lloyd). She married
John Leon Bryan in Jefferson Co. in 1876.

I do not know her parents, but suspect her dad
might be George Washington Patterson, born
ca. 1814-1815 who came to Florida (Leon or
Jefferson Co.) from Charleston, SC in 1826 with
his great-uncle Joseph Orr Patterson. George
Washington Patterson married M. Hightower in
1855 and they had 5 daughters and 4 sons. I
suspect my Mary Jane is one of the daughters
but haven't made the connection yet.

I noticed two notes pertaining to Patterson families
in Madison Co., Florida. Madison county adjoins
Jefferson county and it is possible that my Mary
Jane came from one of these, though I didn't see
any mention of her name. If those two researchers
have any information that might lead to my Mary Jane
(Jennie) Patterson above, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Any help would be welcomed and appreciated!

Thanks,
Dorothy

My father, Frank Patterson, born in 1896
in Oklahoma to John Patterson and Maggie
(don't know the maiden name). It's my
understanding they were born and married in
Daviess county in Kentucky. John was born
about 1836 and Maggie 1852. They were
married in 1864. I found in the 1850 Kentucky
census a Seaton and Elizabeth Patterson,
they were 36 and 29 years old at the time.
I think they might be my great grand parents.
Children listed were James W., Mary C.,
Elizabeth J. and John. My father Frank had
two sisters Lillie and Lulu.

I've been unable to find out my grandmother,
Maggie (or Marguarite) as listed in the Oklahoma
1900 census. I'm just getting started trying to trace
them down. If anyone has any suggestions on
how to go about this or anyone connect with
these lines? Thanks.....Wildwan1

birth/death dates, etc. Please e-mail me with

I am fairly new at researching my family tree
and don't have too much information. The family
records were destroyed in a fire and most of my
Patterson relatives, that I know, are dead. My
mother, who is 92, doesn't remember too much
and I have only one aunt, age 72, who is all
that is left of the Patterson side, doesn't seem
too interested in helping me. I don't really
think she knows a lot about our ancestors.
What I have is as follows:
Grandfather was Walter Marshal Patterson born
1881 but I don't know where, lived in Maidsville,
West Virginia until he died about 1948. My
grandmother was Sarah Olive Hale born Oct 12,
1884 and died in 1933. They had 5 sons and 3
daughters. The sons are all deceased and 2 of the
girls are. The following is in the order of their
birth:
1) Creed Franklin Patterson, born 10/21/1904 in Hampton
Roads Virginia and died on 04/14/42 at Morgantown,
West Virginia.
2) Elvin Marshal Patterson, born 09/01/1906 and died ?
3) Gertrude Almeda Patterson, born 11/14/08 and died
01/01/1942
4) Genevieve Addie Patterson, born 02/25/1910 and
died ?
5) James Walter Patterson, born 03/31/1920 and died
in 1997 or thereabout.
6) William Thomas Patterson, born 02/16/1922 and
died ?
7) Robert Hale Patterson, born 10/06/1925 and died ?
Virginia Geneale Patterson, born 01/24/1928 lives
in Florida.

All the deceased, except Genevieve, are interred in
the Beverly Hills Cemetery at Morgantown, West Virginia.
I know that most of their relatives are from Virginia,
West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio areas.
Any help will be appreciated.
Also, I am the eldest son of Creed Patterson and live in California.

Hi All,
Chester Arthur Patterson, was my grandfather died
in the 1950's around 70 years old. He was married
twice. First wife I do not have information on, had
a daughter, Elvira Patterson Moulds, lives in FL.
Second wife, my grandmother, Alice Littleton, had
three children, Wallace and Stuart identical twins
and Nancy. Wallace and Stuart were born in 1930,
Stuart died in 1959, in a plane crash.
C A Patterson started one of the first restaurant
publications in 1919 called American Restaurant
Magazine, today it is owned and published by
Penton Publ, and it is called Restaurant
Hospitality. C A was recognized by the industry in
many ways thorough out the first half of this century.
In the book McDonalds "The Golden Arches" C A's magazine
is recognized as the first exposure of the McDonald
brothers high volume fast food restaurant concept due
to a cover store in American Restaurant
that he ran, two years later is when Ray Kroc met them.
My grandfather contributed a lot to the restaurant
and hotel industry (a sister publication is called
Lodging Hospitality). C A had an entrepreneurial
attitude and seized an opportunity to start a
publication for restaurant owners in 1919 when
prohibition set in, he wanted to help restaurant
owners be profitable from food.

Born 1983 - Died June 30 1955
Born on a farm not far from Springfield Ohio,
youngest of six. His father died three years
later, the following year the farm was sold at
auction and the family moved to Springfield Ohio
and later to Dayton. At 18 years old he went to
Chicago. He worked for a rubber stamp company,
second hand sewing machine repair shop and a
vending machine company. Then a meat company,
a wholesale grocery company. Back when he worked
for the National Cash Register, he also began
writing for Boys World, which he had been
getting in Sunday school. All the time he worked at
various jobs he continued writing he earned checks
from the Saturday Evening Post, Worlds Work, Chicago
Tribune and later turned to publishing for his life's
work.
In Oct 1919 he launched American Restaurant Magazine
(today it is called Restaurant Hospitality -1999) for
the 40,000 restaurant operators in existence in the US.
It was successful from the start. He was instrumental

I believe I am looking for Helen Patterson

and they had at least one daughter, Effie
Theresa Wilson. Dates?
Effie Wilson Stebelton (Charles M. Stebelton)

information out there to help me find Helen?
Could have been in Henry Co., Tennessee at
