Paula's Family Ancestors

George Washington and Mary Ann Gray Long

Paula's great great grandparents were married September 19, 1850, in Greenup Co, KY. George was the son of Martin and Mary Smith Long,of Botetourt Co, VA. They came to Pulaski Co, MO in the mid 1800's and settled south of Waynesville. Their four children, William Perry,Benjamin Franklin, Francis Marion, and Joseph Martin also settled and raised large families in Pulaski County. Among their descendants are Paul M. Long, who served as Sheriff of Pulaski County for 16 years, and Judge Douglas E. Long, Jr. who is Circuit Judge of the 25th Judical Circuit.

Francis Marion and Nancy Leola Logan Long Family

Her great grandparents Francis and Nancy Long were married December 28,1884, in Pulaski County. They had thirteen children, Charles E., James A,Jacob H. (Uncle Sally), George F., Fred G., Estella M., Monta V., Lyman W.,Harold G. (Uncle Battie), Nettie, Walter Monroe, (Paula's grandfather),Francis M. Jr. and Belva. Francis raised his children on a farm just south of Waynesville.

George Washington and Margaret Ella Phillips Sanders

George and Margaret Sanders were Paula's great grandparents on her grandmother Long's side. They were married April 15, 1889 in Pulaski County. George was the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Sanders. The had twelve children, Ida E., Robert W., Alfred E., Dora B., Elizabeth T., Cecil E.,Mary H., Lena (Paula's grandmother), Evelyn V., Georgia I., William F., and Nora G. George W and Margaret were farmers as were about all the settlers during that time.

Jacob Henry Garron Logan Family

Jacob H.G. and Margaret York Logan are Paula's great great grandparents on her fathers side. Jacob was born in Amerherst Co, Va on August 16, 1830, the son of John Malone and Sarah Logan. He married Margaret Ann York, the daughter of Samuel and Nancy Woods York, in 1853. Jacob came to Pulaski County with his parents in the mid 1850's, along with some of the other sixteen siblings born to them. The marriage of Jacob and Margaret York Logan, created a tie between two very large and prominent Pulaski County Pioneer families, which has continued to grow over the years.


William Henry Hammock


Sarah Jane Kanatzer Hammock

These are Paula's ggg grandparents on her mothers side. William H. Hammock was born in Kentucky, in 1824. He married Sarah Jane Kanatzer, daughter of Calvin Kanatzer, in Franklin Co, MO in 1846. They settled in Pulaski County around 1850, and also raised a large family, with many descendents still living here.

Seth and Myrtle Mae Taylor Gladden

Seth and Myrtle are Paula's great grandparents on her mothers side of the family. Seth was the ggg grandson of Moses Gladden of Green Co, PA. Myrtle was the daughter of Ransom and Hannah Goss Taylor. The Gladden Taylor families in Pulaski County, produced many of the counties pioneer educators and teachers.
