Read Libby's story below. She is a very dear *online* friend and she is a In April, 1999 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had an excisional biopsy at the end of April that showed more cancer in the margins. I then had to decide whether to have a lumpectomy or a mastectomy. I read every book and article that I could find. I just didn't feel right about having a mastectomy. I had a lumpectomy and lymph node dissection in June. They removed 13 lymph nodes and they all came back negative Thank God. I am not used to asking for help and now I was dependent on other people. Everyone was so wonderful to me. My coworkers, my bosses, my kids, my church, and my friends. I was very scared and they were always there for me. I had prayers going out for me all over the world and I could feel God's love. I never felt alone. I just finished my course of chemotherapy which was very hard on my body. I was sick a lot and am glad that it is over. I am now having radiation and am finally feeling like a human being again. Praise God I am now cancer free and pray that I remain that way. I have to thank all my Internet friends who lifted me up and prayed for me. I thank God for his loving arms around me through all of this. If anyone else is going through breast cancer and would like to talk, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
