Youth Ministry serving YOUTH

in Presentation and St. Margarets parishes!

Hello all, and Happy New Year! It appears we all survived the Y2k bug, well, I guess you did if you are reading this... Anyways, lets talk about January. Here's the deal, alot of you already missed our first youth community, it was Jan 2nd, Brian Burger led it, and did an excellent job, you should of seen what Joel Vogel drank. Later on this month, on Jan 14? is our Sportz Lockin at William Jewell College. This lockin is much bigger than the lockin our church put on, back in Dec. Many other Catholic youth will be there.. to be exact, 150 other youth. At the lockin, you can play basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, frisbee, or even racquetball, The pool will also be open, with a highdive. You must have your permission slip turned in to Robin by Jan 12, these slips are attainable by the Youth Room door, or in this very newsletter! PS. It will be alot of fun.

Youth community will meet again on Jan. 16th with everyone present getting to chose what we do in this new year...

At the end of January on the 28th? our youth group is going to the KC Blades game (they play hockey) and staying after the game for a post-game concert by Sonic Flood, an awesome Christian band.

Some of us have an interest in adding some of our youthful energy and talents to our liturgy. We are looking for teens who want to help with music and other liturgical ministries for a special mass. Call me, Brian B, @ 246-7747 or Liz @ 524-1519 for more info! We need you!

We hope everyone is able to join in all the fun sometime this month, but if we don't see you, have a great new year. See you @ the Sportz Lockin!

Robin's corner.......
The end of one year and beginning of the new year brings with it all kinds of mixed feelings, hopes, dreams and plans. The passage of time affects all of us in many ways. The New Year rang in for a number of teens in our parish and community, especially Lees Summit North High School with the news that a friend and classmate was killed in a car accident on New Years eve. I have heard many mourn and lament the passing of Klint Andrews. The fragileness of life and the reality that none of us know what is around the next bend hits us hard at times like this. For those who knew and mourn Klint our heartfelt sympathy, our support and our love. May these difficult days offer all of us the opportunity to reach out to each other in hope, in help and in peace.
