On arriving at Boston he deserted and fled to Rhode Island...now our kindred number over 10,000 and are scattered more or less into every state and territory in the United States." The appendix contains reminiscences of the author, an index to the portraits, and a useful post-office directory, by which the reader can identify the places of residence of Olin family members at the time this book was originally published.
