Indy, born February 20, 1995, is my herder. He is starting his trial career: At the Border Collie Society of America national specialty in 1997, he came in fourth in Course B Open and won High Open Dog at a recent ASCA trial. "FLASH" This year at the Border Collie Specialty of 1998 ,Indy got first place in Course B Intermediate and HIT!!! Newest win for Indy was at the Windy Hill Trials in Dawson,Georgia where he placed third,second and first in Novice/Novice and was High Scoring Novice Dog. Indy and I went this Labor Day Weekend to White Bluff Tenn and entered out first Pro-Novice trial. I was very pleased with his work as we finished the course both days and placed 12 out of 29 dogs the first day. On Sept 23/24,Indy and I once again competed in a Pro-Novice class. The first day he competely ignored me but we did manage to get a score. The second day,we had a serious talk before we went onto the field and Indy decided to work as a team and we tied for tenth place out of 34 dogs. I saw some wonderful work by Indy even though I couldn't remember the commands for directions properly. Poor Indy...what a handicap he has with me,but we sure are having a good time together Indy now has his ASCA Advanced Sheep title,Open Cattle and Advanced Duck titles , and I am beginning to see the coveted ASCA WTCH in his future This year(2000) at the BCSA Specialty,Indy obtained his HI on Course B Sheep and was second with an 85. In 20001, he obtained his Advanced Duck Title in ASCA with a first and second and was first in Open Cattle. He was high Scoring Breed other than Aussie. Indy is continuing his trialing in 2001 in USBSHA Open and the two of us are learning how to handle the sheep through the courses We are now placing around eighth place and getting better This past October 2000, we went to Dan Gill's trial where Indy placed third over the two day period in Pro-Novice In August of 2001, I took the "pack" to St Louis for a USBCHA trial. Indy was entered in Open and this would be his first time to shed. He completed the course both days including a shed and pen . I am so proud of him!! In September 2001, Indy ran in a USBCHA arena trial and finished FIRST!!! This was only his third time in Open. THe course consisted of an outrun, fetch, drive through two panels, pen, iron cross and shed ,all of which he did without a hitch. The BCSA Specialty was in October of 2001 and Indy got his Advanced Sheep title on A Course and one Advanced duck leg. This was his first time(and mine) to run A Course, so I was proud that he did so well for me. Our scores ranged around 88-90, which didn't give us a placement, but we still finished ahead of most other dogs. He loves herding and doesn't have time for anything else -- well, he makes an exception for running with the "rat pack" of young dogs who whiz around the yard. He's a somewhat reserved dog who takes his work VERY seriously. Oh, he also likes to play with my African gray parrot, whose picture is on The Other Critters page.

This spring of 2002, Indy broke his front leg and so will be unable ti compete in herding trials . The leg is healing slowly and he should be back next year October 2002...Indy's leg has healed wonderfully. He is fat now but willing to work. There are not many herding trials around us so this year(2004) we headed off t o Dallas to finish our duck title Two seconds and a title were obtained!

Eagle , born July 9 1996, and he's outstanding. He's a Lyric pup, and is one of the ones with flash! He's like the wind on the agility course, he is keen to herd, and his spirit is irrepressible! This guy is a joy to be with. Everything Eagle does, he does 100% Eagle obtained his OA with a first place and was 16 seconds faster than the second place dog. Eagle placed second in Novice/Novice at the Windy Hill trials showing me a glimpse of what his herding career could become My glimpse was fulfilled in White Bluff this September as Eagle finished tied for second in Novice/Novice the first day and placed FIRST on Sunday He had a perfect outrun Sunday which was wonderful as we have been working very hard on this Eagle obtained his HS with two third places at the 1999 BCSA Specialty on Course B Sheep. Eagle has moved up to Pro-Novice and has really matured this year. He has done very well at his last trials placing 7th and 6th However, in his last trial on the last day, he reverted to his old self and zoomed through the course Luckily it was a timed event Maybe he knew? Eagle placed 6th at the Jackson State Fair on difficult sheep with a score of 74. Out of 28 dogs competing in Pro-Novice, only 7 finished the course and penned sheep Indy and Eagle were two of those that did this. This summer of 2001, Eagle placed 7th in the International JWW agility trials in Houston at AstroHall. At St Louis in the USBCA herding trials, Eagle had trouble with his pen in Pro-Novice the first day, but finally got his sheep in. The second day I was very pleased with him and he finished tied with Gem for 8/9 place. Eagle competed in an USBCHA arena trial in September and finished 4th in Pro-Novice the first day. He has problems with his quickness in arenas, but tries hard Eagle was an alternate for the 2001 BSCA Specialty and managed to get in for two of the three days. He got two legs on the Intermediate Sheep B Course with a second and third. THe next day he obtained his TDX title completing the track in ten minutes. Eagle competed in an USBCHA Open trial this April of 2002 and tied for 8th and finished 10th. he listened and tried really hard. We were lucky and got our shed right away. Eagle finished his HXBs in Dallas this year(2004) He did this in 3 straight trials I couldn't believe we got our shed each time Way to go Eagle! Eagle and Gem had a litter of puppies in Feb, 2002. Luzian Joe Be Cool CDX,OAJ,OA

Joe is the prettiest shade of red and white and looks and acts like his daddy, Dan. He's very sweet and sensitive, and is the best dog to have around when you're feeling blue. He takes it to heart and won't let you alone until you're feeling better.Joe loves obedience and nothing makes him happier than prancing in the obedience ring. Joe finished his CD with two first places ribbons. AT the 2001 BCSA Specialty, Joe finished his Standard Open agility title with a first and fourth place. I see alot of improvement in his concentration.

Salt is a blue merle, like his mom, Mist. He and Joe have the same ears, which they will both grow into some day. Salt has one brown eye and one eye that's half-brown and half-blue. He belongs to the person who is doing this web site for me, so I have to include him. Joe and Salt are 14 months old now, and we hope they have gotten through the difficult puppy stages. Salt is working at obedience, agility, herding and tracking, but mostly he likes to drag his border collie housemate, Nan, around by her cheeks and ride shotgun in the car. Gem HSAs,NAJ,OA,AHBA HTD1 is a Mist daughter and at 9 months looks like her half brother,Indy.She has started herding and also herds just like Indy She should be alot of fun. Gem was in training with Barbara Leverett up in New York for six months. She is now home and ready to begin her herding trial career. Gem was entered in her first USBCHA trial in St Louis. I started her in Pro-Novice and she beat Eagle the first day and tied with him the second. She really seemed to get the idea of what she was supposed to do, and I think she will be alot of fun to trial Gem's second trial in Pro-novice was very nice and she finished 5th behind Eagle. At the BCSA 2001 Specialty, Gem completed her Started COurse A Sheep title and had one second place.

Tara is most like her mom,Mist.She is perpetual motion and wants to "get those sheep" Mouse is having problems with her trial carreer because she has so much eye.SHe tends to stick on her outrun but once you get her out there, she can drive and flank with the best of them. Celly TD,MX,MXJ,HXAs,HXBs, HXAd ,multiple USDAA titles, who is a Mist/Eagle son born in October of 2001. Celly has begun his herding, agility and tracking career. Celly obtained his TD in March of 2003 along with his half brother, Chase. Celly is now working on his agility titles ,getting his NA in 2 trials and moving up to Open.Celly has finished his OPen Standard title and has moved up to Excellent. He ran a fantastic run this past New Years 2004 weekend , only missing the last jump and coming back to the correct one and still faster than all except two of the other dogs who finished with no mistakes.

Tapestry AX, MXJ, HXAs, HXBs, Masters USDAA titles ,aka Tap,an Eagle/Gem son. I have been waiting for a red merle and when I least expected it, here he is. Gem has carried her red gene from her great grandmother. Tap loves herding and agility. He is quite a character...fast in agility but you never know exactly what he is going to do.

Both Celly and Tap got their first exposure to dog broke sheep in June,2002. Celly walked behind his sheep and can do small outruns. Tap barked and barked at first and finally decided he could handle those sheep and circled nicely
January 2003...Celly and Tap came to a Patrick Shanahan herding clinic and learned about what the correct distance from sheep is while circling and fetching
Both Tap and Celly are also learning to track and do agility
