To my daughter Catherine Montgomery - 1 feather bed and furniture, 1 heifer, and 1 Smoch (?) chest.
To my wife Mary Montgomery- the rest of my personal estate, during her natural life, and after her death, to be equally divided among my children: Thomas, Bernard, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Teresa, and Augustin. I want my daughters to live on sd lands if they choose, during their single lives.

Probated on Apr 1, 1780 by Mary Montgomery's oath. Then came Edward Jenkins and James Moreland, 2 of the witnesses, and made oath that they saw the testator sign and seal this Will.

To my brother Ignatius Montgomery - all of my land, it being part of a tract of land called Monmouth Enlarged. But if he dies without issue, then I bequeath the land to the heirs of my brother, Joseph Montgomery.
To my brothers Ignatius Montgomery and James Montgomery and my sister, Anne Mary Montgomery - all my moveable estate to be equally divided between them.

An act for the naturalization of Peter Montgomery of Charles County Maryland, planter, and his children.

Be it enacted by the Rt Honble the Lord Prop by and with the advice & consent of his Lordships Governor and the upper and Lower house of Assembly and the authority of the same that Peter Montgomery of Charles County, a native of France, and his children already born viz., Francis and John Baptista Montgomery and every of them shall from hence forth be adjudged, reputed and taken as naturall born people of this province of Maryland and that they and every of them by the authority of be enabled and adjudged to all intents and purposes to demand challenge ask have hold and enjoy any land tenements rents and hereditaments to which they might in any wise be entitled as if they were free and naturall born subjects and leige people and alsoe that they and every of them shall & may be enabled to maintain prosecute avow justifye and defend all manner of actions suites pleas plaints and other demands whatsoever as liberally, frankly, freely, fully ad securely as if they and every of them had been naturall born people and subjects of his most Sacred Majesty King George the second any law statute useage or custom to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding.
