Notes for Mary Jane McRachen:
The following was written by a friend, Annie Manis, and was in the Dalton Citizen Newspaper on April 18, 1915 as a Memoriam to Mary Jane Jordan.

On Saturday night, March 27, "Grandma" Jordan closed her dear eyes in death. She passed away peacefully after many days of suffering toil, for she was very old. God knew she had suffered long enough, so he took her back to see her home in heaven, where she will know no more pain and suffering.
God had been in her life for many years. He had kept her from many ills which cross the life of humanity. She had been a member of Good Hope Baptist Church for over thirty years and had always dome her duty. But, dear children, worry not for you know God will call you home sooner or later to meet her for she is now with Jesus.
She was faithful in her church and Sabbath School as long as she was able; but she has been very feeble for several years. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the children and grandchildren, and most especially, to the two at home, for what is home without a mother? She was the mother of twelve children-seven girls and five boys. Her husband preceeded her to the grave five years ago. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. D. Davenport on Monday. Interment was made at the Varnell Cemetery
