Walter whom I believe is the Ancestor of my line was the first of this family to leave Ireland. He was a Carpenter and came to East Jersy province from Dublin Ireland on or about the last day of March 1683. He was indenture of Apprenticeship to Stephen Warne for seven years. The full term of Apprenticeship was not required.
"List of persons, imported for account of Stephen and Thomas Warne. Indentured for three years, William Elleson Tanner, for four years, John kigbin, Norah Kae, for five Years, Patrick Kemane, for Seven years Anthony Ashmore, Walter Newman, for Nine years, Abraham Smith, for the custom of the Country, Jane Hankinson and her children Thomas, Peter and Richard Hankinson. All came into the Province about March31, 1663-4."
From Records of East Jersey Province: "Headland was granted to Walter Newman late apprentice of Stephen Warne of Perth Amboy, Carpenter 2 July 1688."
Walter married Mary about 1687. Records of their first nine children can be found in The Paarish of St. Mary at Burlington, New Jersy. He later appears in land records in Pennsylvania. The family moved to Cecil County, Maryland in about 1713 where records for the birth of his remaining five children appear in the Parish of St. Stephen. Walter made his will the 17 November 1725.He left most of his Estate to his two youngest sons. Wife Mary married her neighbor Thomas Moore.
Listed here are the chidren of Walter and Mary. Then begins my proven Genealogy with WILLIAM While I am certain Walter is the Ancestor of William I have not found a reliable source to confirm it. I would like to stress that the William born 1702 ( son of Walter and Mary is NOT the William detailed in my proven Genealogy.
If you have information that will help connect William and/or his wife Cassandra Tippet to parents siblings etc. or if you disagree with any information contained on these pages, or would like to add more PleaseEMAIL ME

Bond, Laurence MD CHARLES CO. 118 1810 Census
NICHOLAS CO. KY. COURT ORDER BK. WILLIAM T. SON OF LAWRENCE BOND DECEASED.
In 1794 Dr Thomas bond Jr. died in Va, where he was surveying some land. In his will he left 4,000 acres of land to Lawrence Sterne Smallwood, orphan who was apprenticed to a coachmaker in Philadelphia. He also left money or land to a girl orphan somewhere in Philadelphia all this before his wife and children are mentioned. This inheritance was brought to the notice of the orphans court so Lawrence was still under age.
Sometime between then and 1810 he changed his name to Lawrence S. Bond, marries Eleanor Newman in MD (the bonds originally came from there) Lawrence and Eleanor go to Va, I think to see about claiming his land, and he either died there or gave up and came on to KY where he died.
The land in VA was in then Lewis Co and now is in Upshure Co WV. In 1836 a power of attorney is written, in Bourbon Co, where all of children and husband of Amanda and Eleanor Fugate late wife of Lawrence Bond deceased, give power of attorney to William T. to attend to and do all lawful acts and things whatsoever which we ourselves could do in and concerning the recovery sale and conveyance lands or interest in land either legal or equitable in the state of VA to which one? Either of us are or may be entitled as the heirs of said Lawrence and grandchildren heirs or decedents of Doctor Thomas Bond deceased. It was mailed to Buchannon Town Feb 17, 1854. They make trips back and forth. my Thomas E is there in 1855 when his dau, Almira is born. then they start selling the land off. So there has to be some kind of court decision to be able to do that. Also, Ken figures, from the deeds of land sold and kept, that they got almost the whole grant that Dr Thomas had from service in Rev War, close to 69,000 acres

DAVID WILSON, farmer, P. O. Davidson; born near Lexington, Ky., Nov. 19, 1790. His father, Jeremiah Wilson, and his mother, Katie Cooper, were both from the State of New Jersey. They were among the first to brave the dangers of the Western wilderness, taking their share of the hardships common to the early pioneers of this land of cane. David Wilson was reared on a farm. He suffered in his youth an attack of the white swelling, which made him a cripple for life. His education, like that of most of his contemporaries, was of a very limited character. He married, in Bourbon County, in 1815, Sarah, daughter of William and Cassander (Tippet) Newman; has eight living children: William, Matilda, Abbie, Ephraim, Sophia, Joseph, David and Kitty Ann. Mr. Wilson is now the oldest man in this precinct, and has for many years filled the eldership of Mt. Zion Christian Church. His political suffrage is exercised in behalf of the Democratic party.

HISTORY OF LINN CO IA.:Mr. Newman came to this county in the spring of 1857, and located in Monroe Twp. He has 113 1/2 acres of good land, all under cultivation. Feb 21, 1886, his dwelling- house was destroyed by fire, causing a loss pf $450. He has since erected a one-and-a-half story house, 23x30 feet, and also has a good barn. He is one of the Model Farmers of this section, as his stock of horses and all his other surroundings wll show. He brings to the cultivation of his farm a practical skill which is not only the result of experience, but also os intelligent study. Never had children of their own, but they adopted and raised several. They were members of the Christian Church for ten years. Mr. newman is one of the deacons, the church has a membership of 150. Was drafted in 1864, but was never called into active service, being one of those held in reserve at home. He was a Democrat. During his 30 years in residence in this county, Mr. Newman has beheld the wonderful changes which have been made. He has seen the raw, prairie transformed into bountifal farms and busy villages, and now, in his manhood's prime, is in the enjoyment of a handsome competency, won by his own unaided efforts. He an his good wife are happy in the possession of numerous warm friends, and their names are stnonyms for loveliness of character and strict fidelity to all the relations of live.

A Preacher- and a merchant
104 acres-Washington Twp.Sec 28 GAR-A.F, & A.M.Mason in 1872
HISTORY OF LINN CO IA.:Thomas is a pioneer of Linn County, Iowa, and resides in Washington Twp. on section 27. He is a native of Bourbon Co. Ky. Where he was born. He is the son of Thomas and Nancy Johnson, Newman, the former a native of Maryland and the latter of Ky. Came at the age of eight years old. He was reared on his father's farm and began and completed his education in the common schools. He continued under the parental roof until his 20th year when his attention was turned toward the young and rapidly growing state of Iowa. He determined to seek it with a purpose of establishing ahome there and accordingly, bidding a tempoary farewell to old associations, he turned his face westward. Being pleased with the appearance of the new territory, he at once purchased 104 acres of land on section____. Washington Twp. this Co. which tract he still owns. To this tract he added 161 acres ans has made a fine present of land to each of his children.
He and his estimable wife are members of the Baptist Church, and have been connected with it for several years past. Mr. Newman is also a member in good standing of the AF and AM. He became a Mason in 1872 and is a member of Viana Lodge no. 142, at Center Point. He has been connected with this lodge for 6 years. Politically he is a democrat.
Thomas occupies as enviable position. He is possessed of more than ordinary intelligence, is a man of high principles, upright and honorable in all his dealings, and is a citizen whose worth is appreciated at its full value. He is deeply interested in religious matters, has been an elder in his church for a period of eight years, and has often supplies the pulpit, giving forth his utterances in a clear and intelligent manner. A fine view of Mr. Newman's residence appears in this work.

Eldora Harden County Herald The following appeared in the ELDORA, Harden County Herald sometime after 5 May 1894; A former Windy Linn Citizen gets into trouble. JASPER JACOB PARSONS, he has often married, had many family rows, shot his man twice, been in the pen, once and may go there again--His trouble at Worthington, many of the older citizens of the county will remember, "Jap" Parsons, who sixteen years ago was prominent in political matters. He lived in Otter Creek township and once had a Law Office in this city. His career here was a checkered one and well fitted him for the hero of the following story as told by the Eldora, Hardin County Herald; News has been recieved here that Jasper J. Parsons shot and seriously injured Fred Shafter near Worthington, Minn. He was arrested and is under $2000 Bond. Jasper Parsons came to this county in 1879. He took a school in the vicinity of Hubbard and being rather bright and quite a politician he soon was recognized by the redoubtable Bob McBride of the Ledger as a pliant tool and able Lieutenant to manipulate southwest Harden County for the McBride Ring. Parsons was flattered and shown much attention. In 1880 the ring secured his appointment to take the census of Concord and Grand Townships, and in 1881 he was made Postmaster of Hubbard. In order to intrench the ring more strongly and give them more political power McBride furnished Parsons with considerable material from the Ledger Office, and by getting other parties to endorse his notes Parsons was able to put in a small printing office and in April, 1881, He began the publication of the Hubbard News in opposition to the Hubbard Times, A paper started by Mark J. Kelly, who was not favorable to the McBride dynesty. Parsons came to Hardin County from Linn County, where he had a wife and four daughters. His first wife was Hattie Newman of Linn County, a school teacher whom he met while teaching school. They were married in 1871. Parsons read law with Wm. G. Thompson of Marion, and was admitted to the bar in 1878. That year he was a candidate for representative and was beaten by only a few votes. Notwithstanding he had a wife living in Linn county, he began to wait upon Miss Stella Boody, daughter of Charles Boody, soon after coming to Hardin County. In February 1880, Parson was married to Miss Boody, while his first wife was still living, but on her death bed from neglect and abuse. She died the next day after Parson's second marriage. Parsons soon began to neglect his new wife and during the winter of 1882-3 she was compiled to leave him and return to her parents. Parsons then brought suit for divorce to the wife upon a cross-petition. Parson's downfall was quite as rapid as his elevation and in 1883 he shook the dust of Harden County from his feet. After leaving Hardin County he went to Missouri where he followed school teaching. In 1886 or 1887 he was married to a woman residing in Schuyler County, Mo. As usual Parson's married life was full of turmoil. His wife was a handsome woman and Parsons soon became jealous of her and made himself a burden to his spouse. During the latter part of 1888 or 1889 he discovered his wife and a neighbor talking together and immediately the demon of jealousy was aroused and Parsons pulled his gun and shot and seriously wounded the man. The community was greatly aroused and Parsons was arrested. After the usual delays Parsons was convicted in Schuyler County, Mo. of assault with intent to kill and sentenced in November 1889, to the penitentiary for a term of years. Jan 1890, Parsons was pardoned by Lieut Gov. Claycomb. He then disappeared and the next heard of him he was in California, where he was seen by a lady from this county in 1892. He was then at Woodbridge, California. Parsons then turned up in western Iowa, where he became associated with a numlber of crooks. The next hearing of him was at Worthington, Minn. where he appeared as a common tramp in 1894. He applied for work on a church which was being erected there. He saved money enough to buy a good suit of clothes and then applied for a school. He succeeded in getting a school four and a half miles south of Worthington. While teaching shool there he became acquainted with a German widow woman by the name of Mrs. Feustmaker, who owned some $8000 or $10,000 worth of property. The widow was warned, but Parsons pressed his suit and on the 24 of March they were married. After the wedding, Parsons put out his shingle as an attoroney at Worthington and fortune seemed to smile upon him for a time. The widow had an adopted daughter who would inherit a large amount of property when she became of age. In the event of the death of the adopted daughter the property was to revert to her foster mother, Parson's wife. This girl had a fellow, a most worthy young man by the name of Fred Shafer, Parsons conceived a wonderful dislike to the young man and wanted his wife to order him off the place. This the wife refused to do. Parsons then wrote the young man two very abusive letters ordering him to keep away. The young man wrote back and told Parsons it was none of his business and he should wait upon the young lady as long as she was willing. Sunday, May 5, while Parsons was absent, Shafer called and took the young lady riding. When Parsons returned he was wrathy and said to his wife he would fix him. When Shafer returned with the girl, Parsons walked out to the road and shot the young man while he was standing by his buggy. The bullet from a 44-calibre revolver passed through the fleshy part of the leg near the body, inflicting an ugly wound. Parsons was arrested and placed under $2000 Bond. The people of Nobles County are taking considerable interest in the case and are looking up Parson's record and propose to send him to the penitentiary for a good long term. The Ephriam Cox family settled on the SW 4 of Section 28, twp 18 north range 4 east of I. M. Payne County after the opening of the Iowa & Sac & Fox Indian Reservation in 1891.
My father and mother settled on the farm joining the Cox farm on the west. They were close neighbors and good friends for many years.
I was born there on the farm May 2, 1895 so you see I am getting along in years.
The Cox family worked hard and soon had one of the best improved farms in the entire neighborhood. I think they lived on this farm about 12 or 15 years. They sold it to people from Nebraska.
Lucious Cox married Allie Cline, Albert married a Cooper girl. Orlando married Elnora Martin, Emma married Bob Donahue, Everetta married Luther Canada and Walter married a widow whose name was Ada Cripe.
Lucious and Allie moved to Colorado about 1905-1910 they settled in Castle Rock (just south of Denver) where they lived for many years. Lucious was sheriff of that county for quite some time. I am sure they left children Orlando moved to south central Colorado, as I remember. They had children. I think Albert died in PAyne County, Okla. a number of years ago. Everetta died quite you but left 3 children as I remember. Walter died quite young and I think is buried in the Ripley, Okla Cemetery.

O, father of mine, this is of you,
To friends and loved ones ever true;
Never to us, you harshly spoke,
Never the seventh commandment broke.
You never were cross with children's noise,
And always patient with the boys;
Commanding obedience with your word,
Corporal punishment with you unheard.
O, father of mine, this is of you,
You lived a noble life and true.
O, father of mine, this is of you,
You were a christian thru and thru;
The prayers you said from day to day,
Shall ever in my memory stay.
And when you dwell in your Fair Land,
I'll ever see your guiding hand,
Pointing upward to the way,
Which leads to everlasting day.
O, father of mine, this is of you
God help us to like you, be true.
