ANDREW WIGGIN JR.,was born in Squamscot (Stratham, NH), 6 Jan 1671-72, and died in Stratham 23 Jan 1756. He married ABIGAIL FOLLETT of Dover on 2 Sep 1697, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. John Pike.

Later, ANDREW WIGGIN married RACHEL (CHASE) FREESE on 4 Jan 1735. Rachel was born 27 Apr 1687 and died 14 June 1771. She was the widow of Lieut Jacob Freeze of Hampton, NH. Her maiden name was Rachel Chase and she was a sister to Ann Chase who married Bradstreet Wiggin. Rachel was the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Patridge Chase of Hampton. Joseph Chase was son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Philbrick) Chase. Elizabeth Philbrick was daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Philbrick. Rachel Patridge was daughter of William Patridge of Salisbury, Mass. Rachel married Jacob Freeze in 1710.

Andrew Wiggin was selectman of Exeter in 1699, 1704 and 1712. Andrew was on the Bench of the Superior Court 1720-1756 and was Judge of Probate for the Province 1742-1756; was speaker of the House of Representatives 1728-1745. Judge Andrew Wiggin was much employed in public affairs. One of the signers of petitions from Squamscot praying for separate township in 1709 and 1715. He was moderator of the first town meeting held in Stratham April 10, 1716. Andrew was appointed to represent the town of Stratham in the General Assembly in 1716 and was chosen on the committee to build the first meeting house in town.

By his will dated 1753 he gives first to Rachel Wiggin his wife and then to his grandson Andrew the farms later owned by Josiah B. Wiggin and Hiram Wiggin in Stratham. To his grandson Jonathan the farm later owned by George Wingate in the same town; he to pay legacies to his brothers, Zebulon, Issachar, and Nathaniel of $100 and his sister Mary $100. He left to his grandsons Nicholas and Bradstreet his right in the town of Bow. To his daughters Hannah Baily and Mary Smith his right in Gilmanton; to his daughter Martha Rust his right in Barnstead; to his daughters Abigail Doe and Nancy Sherburn his right in Canterbury. Another extraction from his will: as for my beloved grandson Andrew on condition he or my executors in his behalf pay the debts and legacies herein ordered I give and bequeath unto him the said Andrew......half my wearing cloase and my silver fankard and sword, one gun, one cane and my negro man Filander.

A home built by him, noteworthy for its fine panelling, stands on the road running from the main road past the Stratham Library. It has been occupied until recently by members of the family. The land is used for farming. Andrew Jr., and Abigail's children were Hannah, Andrew, Martha, Abigail, Nicholas, Mary, Mercy, Caleb, BRADSTREET, Nicholas, and Elizabeth.
