He was a coal miner for several years on Pond Creek. At the time of retirement he worked at Chemthron in Huntington WVa. He also was an Army Veteran. Joined the Old Union Church of Old Regular Baptist, Sept 15 1957. On Sept 14 1974, he was in church and was lining a song and had a stroke and died the next morning. He always said, lining songs and singing was his gift from God.
