BULLOCKS WHO SERVED IN WW2

If you have information on a Bullock who served in the Armed Forces in World War II, please send it to me, Ginny Deagan and I will post it on this page.

Gordon Paskol Bullock served in the Army in WWII. He was from Livingston, KY. He had Three brothers that served at this time also, Bradford Harold Bullock , Buford Bullock and Robert Eugene Bullock. I'm not sure of dates. [email protected]

Robert Lawrence Bullock, born in Addison, New York, March 1, 1922 served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from April 1940 through May or June 1945. He was first stationed in Iceland for two years and then was sent to France. He returned to the U.S. in January, 1945, and was stationed at Will Rogers Field in Oklahoma City. There he met and married Avis England of Prague, OK and other than a short return to New York from October 1945 to March, 1947 lived in Muskogee, OK. He died August 6, 1992 in Muskogee, OK. Sharon Creager

My father, Bernard Eugene Bullock, descended from 9-Noah P. Jr., 8-Noah P. Sr., 7-Jeremiah, 6-Hezekiah, 5-Benjamin, 4-Hezekiah, 3-Seth, 2-Samuel, 1-Richard (of Rehoboth, MA).

Born 2 Feb 1912 in Minco, Grady, OK. Graduate of Clinton (OK) High School, Southwestern College (Weatherford, OK), Baylor University College of Medicine (Dallas, TX). Internship at Kansas City General Hospital (MO). Entered private medical practice at Clinton, OK.

Married to Doris Nadine Medbery. Three sons: James Bernard, Gerald Martin, and Charles Morris.

Joined US Army Reserves as 1st Lt. prior to Pearl Harbor. Activated not long afterwards. Received rapid promotions and was Lt. Col. and commanding officer of 62nd Medical Battalion, which shipped to England Dec. 1943.

Was in D-Day Invasion on Omaha Beach where he was wounded. Was transported back to England where he died four days later, 10 Jun 1944. His unit's chaplain wrote "Col. Bullock went in among the first assault troops on D-Day. At that time the entire beach was covered by all types of gunfire. The colonel disregarded his personal safety during this time and did a fine job of getting things organized on the beach for the care and evacuation of the wounded--and there were plenty of them. Late in the afternoon, while going to bring in a wounded officer, the colonel was hit in the abdomen by a piece of shrapnel--and was immediately evacuated to England."

"The battalion has really done a wonderful job and it was all due to the fine work of the colonel. He performed service beyond the call of duty while he was in here and was an inspiration to all the men who landed and worked with him that first day." Jim Bullock of Littleton, CO

My grandfather, Harold Bullock served as Corporal in the US Army Corps of Engineers during WWII. For his participation in motorcycle reconaissance missions into Germany he received a bronze star. For wounds received during the construction of bridges in France under the direction of Gen. Patton, he received two purple hearts. Samantha Bullock

My father, Major John A. Bullock, served in the US Marine Corps in Japan, circa 1940-1944. Jim Bullock of Westminster, MD

Thomas A. Bullock was a Captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater and later was among the first units to occupy Japan. His brother Robert Louis Bullock also served in the Army, but I do not have the details. Both were sons of Robert and Anne (I think) (West) Bullock of southern Missouri and Illinois. The family branched back into Kentucy. Tom and Robert are both deceased.Contributed by  Paul Bullock son of Thomas A.

Garland Ray Bullock, Sr. and his brother John Earl Bullock, Sr.. were in the Army Air Corps then the Air Force.  John was a pilot and Garland was his navigator and bombardier.  Another of their brothers is Joe Charles Bullock and he was with a medical unit.  These three brothers were in WWII.  Their father Samuel Joseph Bullock was in WWI. . I am not sure which branch for Joe or Samuel served in though most likely the Army.  Contributed by  Terry Bullock

Hunter Bullock from New Mexico had a grandfather, William Bullock, who fought in WWII. The family was originally from Ohio.
