BULLOCK CIVIL WAR SOLDIERS WHO SERVED FROM VERMONT

LYMAN BULLOCK SR. (1804 - 1865)
Lyman Bullock, Sr., son of William and Polly (Harris) Bullock, was
born in Quebec 4 October 1804. He married Fanny Noble Tenney in
Abbottsford, Province of St. Hyacinth, Quebec. By 1850, they had moved
to Milton, Chittenden County, VT. Although Lyman was 57 years old, he enlisted
as a Private on 21 July 1862 in Co. "D", 10th Regiment, Vermont Volunteers
and was discharged 16 Apr 1863 on disability. He then served in the 171st
Co. 2nd Battalion, Vermont Reserve Corp. and was stationed in a hospital
at Brattleboro, VT. While on duty there, he was sent to his home town,
Milton, VT to purchase supplies and while he was there, he took sick with
typhoid fever and died 21 January 1865.

LYMAN BULLOCK JR. (1839 - 1888)
Lyman Bullock Jr., son of Lyman Sr. and Fanny (Tenney) Bullock,
was born 27 August 1839 at Abbotsford, Quebec. He moved with his parents
to Milton, Chittenden County, VT and was married there on 12 December 1873
to Mary Jane Douglas.
During the Civil War, Lyman Jr. served as a Sergeant in Company "D"
10th Vermont Infantry. He was described as 6'1" tall, fair complexion,
dark eyes and dark hair. He was discharged 26 November 1862 at Fairfax,
Virginia General Hospital with rheumatism, dropey, varicose veins and ulcerated
limbs. In 1882, he was living in Georgia Plains, Franklin Co. VT, occupation,
cheesemaker. He died of pneumonia 4 April 1888 at Milton, VT.

DAVID O. BULLOCK (1845 - 1907)
David O. Bullock, son of Lyman Sr. and Fanny (Tenney) Bullock was
born at Milton, VT 28 Aug 1845. He was married at Fairfax, Franklin Co.
VT to Jane A. Merrick. He served in the Civil War as a Private in
Co. "F", 8th Regiment, Vermont Volunteers and received a pension for his
service. (#426202). He was 34 years old at time of enlistment and described
as 5'10" tall, light complexion and hair and gray eyes. While he wasa on
duty in the District of Columbia, he contacted measles and was left with
an eye disease. He died 23 December 1907 at Milton, VT.
