WILLIAM BULLOCK - William Bullock b.October 22, 1760 at Rehoboth, MA, d. June 28 1837 at E. Worcester, NY Enlisted March 2, 1777 served under Captain Alexander,Colonel Edward Wigglesworth, Colonel Calvin Smith, Major John Porter, Captain Joseph Willmarth, Colonel Thomas Carpenter and Captain Simeon Cole. Discharged August 8, 1780 Private. Re-enlisted July 23, 1781 Discharged November 8, 1781 Corporal served under Captain Jabez Barney and Colonel Luke Drury. COMFORT BULLOCK - (S12399)  Private in the Revolution.  Died 25 July 1851.  On 10 Aug 1832, in Columbia Co., NY State, Comfort Bullock, resident of Hillsdale, 69 years old appeared to state:  that he entered the army in the latter part of June 1778.  He enlisted at Rehoboth, Mass. in Company commanded by Capt. Richardson, Col. Richardson's regiment.

From Rehoboth, he marched under Lt. Bullock to Rhode Island.  Marched from north part of a small island to the south, then retreated north again under General Sullivan.  There was an engagement after which the Americans retreated off the island to the town of Swanzey, Mass. where he stayed until the end of his six month service.  He enlisted again at Rehoboth early Sept. 1779 and marched to Providence  RI.  Served there for 1 month guarding the artillery and military stores.  He enlisted a 3rd. time in Rehoboth in June, 1781 as a teamster in Capt. Lincoln's company.  From Rehoboth he marched to Providence, from there to White Plains in New York, then to the Hudson River at Kings Ferry and from there under General Washington, he marched thru NY State to Baltimore Md.  From there he drove a team into the country as ordered, left the team and returned to Baltimore.  He remained there about 3 weeks while Capt. Simeon went to Yorktown with the rest of the Army.  When the Capt. returned, they marched to Providence where he was discharged about the last of December the same year.  His total time in service was 13 months which he served as an enlisted soldier.

Abel Brown, clergyman swore as to his character.

ITEM:  He states he was born in Rehoboth Mass. in 1763.  Age recorded in family Bible which is in his possession.  Since the Revolution, he has lived in Hobart, Dutchess Co. NY for about 10 years and in Hillsdale, Columbia County, NY.

ITEM:  20 August 1851. Able Bullock and Major M. Bullock, sons and executors of the estate of Comfort Bullock stated that Comfort died in the city of Hudson, Columbia Co. NY 23 July 1851 leaving no widow.  Children are:  Able, Major M., Benjamin, & Bethia L. Knox, Sally Knox and Mercy Ackley.

He was born in Rehoboth in 1749.  Record of birth was in family Bible but it is lost and gone.  He lived in Rehoboth after the War for [7?] years, moved to Killingston, Conn., lived there 8 yr. then went to Dutchess Co. NY.  He has lived there for 32 years.  James Mead and Abraham Beadle, clergymen attested to his character.
