Ephriam Hogan Sheffield born 9 April, 1791 and died 5 November, 1884 either in Corinth, MS., or McNairy Co. TN.
It appears that Ephriam was living in Alcorn Co. MS., in 1870 and 1880 with a daughter, Elmira. Elmira still owned property in McNairy Co. and kept going back and forth across the TN, MS State line. From all accounts Ephriam was on such a trip when he died in McNairy Co. Ephraim is buried in Sanders cemetery between Michie, TN., and the State line.
Ephriam was in Lauderdale Co. AL., by 1818 as his oldest son was born in that State. He is listed on the 1840 and 1850 census of Lauderdale Co. September 12, 1853 Lauderdale Co. AL., Ephriam was Administrator of the estate of his son Arthur and filed a petition to sell the land. Recorded in Book A page 416. In 1860 Ephriam is in McNairy Co. TN. He moved to MS., after 1860 and before 1870.
Ephriam moved to MS., with a daughter, Elmira after the death of his wife, Sarah. In 1880 Ephriam is in the household with his daughter Lucretia Elmira Davidson who is a widow. Ephriam is listed as 89 years of age and born in SC.
Sarah Davenport born 1795 North Carolina and died after 1860 and before 1870. Sarah is believed buried in Sanders cemetery in Michie, TN., but there is no marker. Sarah daughter of Samuel W. Davenport and Jane Rutledger.
The cemetery is grown over with bushes, weeds and trees. In 1994 Pat Jones 3rd great grand daughter of Ephriam made her way to the cemetery and found the graves of her grand parents and to take pictures.

By 1850 there are only two daughters left in the household and that being the ones listed in 1840 as 0-5, they are Vurinda and Elizabeth. The other three daughters either had married or died. Only one son is listed, John age 16 years. Ephriam is 59 years of age and Sarah is listed as 52 years of age. Both born in SC.
Ephriam carried his Mother's maiden name of Hogan.

1. Arthur C. Sheffield born 18 September, 1818 and died 26 June, 1853 MS. He was born and died in Lauderdale Co. AL., and is buried in Liberty Cemetery in Rogersville. Arthur married Mary Ann Patrick who died 23 October, 1855. Ephriam father of Arthur was administrator of his estate and on September 12 1853 filed petition to sell the land.

George Washington Sheffield was born 8 September, 1820 in Lauderdale Co. AL., and died 1894 in Brown Co. TX.
George married 22 July 1847 in Lauderdale Co. AL., to Lucinda Jane Carlock. She was born 24 March, 1831 North Carolina and died 1893 in Brown Co. TX. Both George and Lucinda are buried in Mukewater Cemetery in Brown Co.

6. Verelda Olive Sheffield, born 27 March, 1859 McNairy Co. TN., and died 27 March, 1896 in Los Angles, CA. She married (1) Joseph L. Edwards (2) Walter Wm Gilmore and (3) T.M. Turner

John Spinks born 5 February, 1851 Lawrence Co. AL. and died November, 1912 in Bangs, TX. He married 16 December, 1869 in Memphis, TN., to Sarah Margaret Wardlow who was born 2 May, 1855 in McNairy Co. TN. Sarah daughter of Pinkney Wardlow and Nisa Farris. She died June 1930 in Brown Co. TX.

4. Goldman Andrew Bethel born 9 July, 1879 in Bangs, TX., and died 19 December, 1948 in Brady, McCulloch Co. TX. He married Bessie Eula Jone, born 18 February, 1883 in Coleman Co. TX. Both are buried in Rest Haven Cemetery in McCulloch Co.
