The following memoranda was discovered in a bottle, which was picked up on the 30 June by Renaud Ashea, at the entrance to Shippagan Gully.

I, Smith Grey, Linen Bleacher, a native of Beverly Yorkshire, with nearly 50 passengers on board, at present, the Brig True Britain, bound for Quebec, Capt. Balderson, Commander, about 200 miles from the above mentioned place, all of us at present being in tolerable good health, left Liverpool England, on the 27 April, 1830.
Its in our native country, we might have lived well, but trade being bad and taxes high, we were forced our land to sell. So straight into America, we all have ventured o'er. Hoping for better living yet, than were had heretofore.
