I am the daughter of Kenneth W. Lay Sr. . My late Grandfathers name is James Leonard Lay. He was the son of Edward & Eliza Lay. Grandson of Grey G. Lay of Salem Mo. That is as far as I have been able to go back. Any available information would be a big
elp. I was told that the information that I recieved was found under the name J. Gilbert Lay Book. Page 374 I would like to know who this man is and how he was related. You have done a wonderful job on your sight. I have enjoyed it so much. Thank Yo
for any help in this search.

Am going to enjoy exploring the Lay Website. I am researching Prudence Lay, dau of Jeremiah Lay, son of Robert Lay, son of Robert Lay, son of Robert Lay. Wives of these are Prudence Belden, Mary Grinnell, Mary Stanton, and Sarah Finney or Tully?
Prudence Lay married married Ezra Crane and had a grandaughter who was born 1807, Hamden, Delaware County New York. I am also interested in the Sarah Marvin, which of the Marvin families does she belong too?

We know it all started in England and then Connecticut, but our Lays headed by wagon for Montana Territory in the 1870's and settled the Gallatin Valley near Bozeman. My GreatGrandpa, Nathan Lay, was wagonmaster for 3 or more trips, but he didn't keep re
ords. Another man on the 1878 train kept a diary, which is all we have to go on. We're starting to put pieces together, but there are lots of false leads! (Lay's Potato Chips)

Hi:
Just sort of stumbled upon your site. I too am descended from "Drummer" John Lay (on my mother's side). I'm at work at the moment, so can't refer to my own database... and the computer I'm using here at work is REALLY crummy for surfing the 'net... but
'll drop you a line when I have a look, and send you my line of descent. I'll certainly be returning to your site, maybe download the gedcom. Take care.

My Grandmother was Cora Etta Lay, her father Joseph Lay, his father, John Lay married to Mary McCoy. I am trying to find out who John Lay's parents were. I looked on LDS Ancestry and they say that Wm. Lay and (blank) Taliaferro were his parents, but try
ng to prove this is another thing.
