We did a quick tour of Yanceyville, in search of the First Baptist Church to verify whether there were any old graves that might contain markers identifying the final resting place of any family members. Among the markers were a few surnames that do appear later in our family tree, but I was unable to identify any connections here. The Baptist Church in Yanceyville was not founded until after the split between the Primitive Baptists and the Baptists, and I am not even sure if this was the site of the original 1834 church. There were no tombstones dating back this far in the cemetary next to this church. However, there is an area that may contain unmarked graves. More details from local historians are needed to know if this is the site of the original congregation that split from the Lick Fork Primitive Baptist Church.
