For Now

For now be my friend,
Accept me as the person I am.
Don't Force me to shut you out...
For now try to understand,
Don't tell me lies that will confuse
Me further......
For now be patient,
Inside me is a beautiful person,
Just give me time......
For now let me know you care,
Meet me half way and i'll walk
with you from there.....

Tammi
Who kindly allowed me to use it here.

Some Friends are Forever

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend; someone who changes your life by being a part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop; someone who makes you believe that there really is good in this world. Someone who convinces you that there is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down, and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem dark and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, and the sad times, and the confused times. If you turn and walk away your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be a-okay. And when you find such a friend, you'll feel happy and complete, because you need not worry. You have a forever friend for life and forever has no end. Laurieann Kelly

When I first received this poem, it was untitled and author unknown.
I had originally called it "Forever Friend".
I have since received E-mails from Effie Asto & Justin Swall stating that the poem is
"Some Friends are Forever" by Laurieann Kelly
Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with Laurieann Kelly
so that I may get her approval to display her work on my page?

The following poem is from The Friendship Place.

I love the time I spend with you,
because you're one of those friends
I always have a good time with.
Even when I'm feeling down,
you manage to help me
feel better about things.
You really listen,
and it's obvious you care.
I appreciate your positive attitude
and the fact that
no matter what I do,
you always see the best in me.
There's not a doubt in my mind
why God put you in my life. . .
He wanted me to know what
a real friend is.

FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens,
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze,
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other, we type all our woes,
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name,
We want recognition, but it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt,
In ICQ we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know,
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen, we can be so bold,
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind,
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.
The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell "real" people, but tell someone we must,
So we turn to the puter, and to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains,
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.

The following poem was written by a dear friend, on the occasion of my retirement.
Some of the specific references may mean nothing to the general reader,
but the poem means a lot to me,
and follows the Friendship theme of this site.

Stay Our Friend

It's sad for us to see you go,
For all of us at Blacktown know
That you have kept this campus going,
Our spirits up and hot jobs flowing.

We'll miss your skills and expertise,
Your anxiousness to always please,
To help our customers in plight,
To do jobs once and to do them right.

We'll miss your counselling as well;
You've cheered us up when life was 'Hell';
You've calmed us down and let us see
How things improvewith cake and tea!

So now it is your farewell lunch;
We chat and laugh and smile and munch;
It's just a ritual we employ,
but from our hearts we wish you joy.

We wish you peace, prosperity and fun.
We feel true thanks for all you've done.
You know, we'll miss you very much;
So stay our friend and keep in touch.

Mary Duckworth

Thank you Mary
I will keep in touch.
