What pictures do you wish you had pictures of from your childhood? Then be sure you get shots of those types of things of your children, grandchildren, etc. >> >>Vacation/Trip: >>1. E.g., woman on trip to Chine announced to everyone that she had made it a goal to look for every possible use of bamboo. Everyone on the trip joined in on the fun and each day would tell her what they had seen made from bamboo. This would require a little research about where you are going and doing a little planning ahead. 3. Be sure to get shots of packing for the trip, signs (road signs, airport signs, etc.) 4. Do something to signify pictures from each day. E.g., girl went to Europe with tour group of students. Each morning a group shot would be taken with everyone holding up a finger for each day of the trip (Day 1 - 1 finger; Day 2 - 2 fingers, etc.) 5. Take LOTS of close ups 6. Have FUN. 7. Keep memorabilia - tickets, brochures, etc. Also, postcards can show shots you could never get with your camera - utilize them. Birthday: 1. Each birthday, take picture of the clock at the time they were born. Have them stand beside the clock to show growth. 2. Take picture of the waking up - document the WHOLE day not just the party. 3. Take close-ups of BD person and guests 4. Get shots of presents before and after opening. 5. Take pictures of the party favors 6. Close up of cake. 7. Other shots associated with the day. E.g., BD party in winter, get a shot of all the snow boots piled up in the back hall or by the door. 8. Get a picture of the weather that day. 9. Get BD person's signature each year and/or get their hand print. 10. Interview the BD person about their favorite things. 11. Take a picture of the newspaper headline that day. Holidays: 1. Get close ups of the food 2. Get the turkey before and after dinner 3. Get close ups of the people 4. Get shots of the weather and outside decorations 5. Get close ups of the inside decorations 6. Have each person pick their favorite ornament on the tree and tell why. 7. Get shots of picking the tree, putting it up and decorating it. 8. Get shots of different family members/generations together . E.g., together shot of the oldest and youngest, all the cousins, etc. 9. Interview people=85what was the 1st holiday they remember, what was the best one, what was the best present they gave or received. 10. Put random questions under each dinner plate and have the person answer the question then others may join in afterward. E.g., one boy got the question - Who has had the most influence in your life? His answer was his big brother. The whole family including the big brother was in tears! Same events every year (baseball, soccer, swimming, etc.) 1. Take signs of the towns the games were played at 2. Get a picture of the school - inside and out. 3. Give the child a camera to get pictures from their sideline perspective. 4. Take pictures of the family members in the stands. 5. Get shots of the coach 6. Get shots of the scoreboard 7. Get shots of the food and drink at the games (kids eating orange sections at the soccer match) 8. Get pictures of practices and carbo load parties. Life is made up of a lot of little stories - don't start with "I was born..." because that's the part you least remember. Begin with the stories you remembe - arrange them chronologically later.
