MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Squashy Bean Stew Categories: Main dish, Mcdougall, Beans Yield: 4 servings McD Newsletter Vol. 7 No. 1 4 c Water 3/4 c Dried pinto beans 3/4 c Dried white beans 1 lg Round onion, chopped 2 cl Garlic, crushed 1 cn Chopped tomatoes (16 oz,) 1 ts Basil 1 ts Oregano 1/4 ts Crushed red pepper 2 c Winter squash,peeled,chopped 1 c Corn kernels Preparation time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 3 Hours Place water and beans in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil, cover and cook over medium heat for 1-1/2 hours. Add onion, garlic, tomatoes and seasoning. Cook for another 30 minutes. Add the squash pieces and cook for 45 minutes. Then add the corn and cook for 15 minutes longer. Serve over whole grains. MMMMM
