MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: ONION CHEESE RING Categories: Appetizers Yield: 10 servings 1 x -Dorothy Cross TMPJ72B 2 1/2 c Sifted flour 3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 4 oz Butter; cut into pieces 1/2 lb Cheddar cheese; shredded 1/2 c Coarsely chopped onion 3/4 c Milk 1 ea Egg; slightly beaten Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in 4 ounces of the cheese and onions; mix well. Pour the milk and egg, all at once, into the flour mixture. Stir until just moistened. Drop dough by tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet, forming a complete.(This will make a circle approximately 14 inches in diameter. If desired, make two smaller circles.) Each tablespoon of dough should barely touch the other. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 15 or 20 minutes, or until the bread is golden.
