After working on a farm for five years, Mr. Borsheim took a business course at Decorah and went to Michigan City, ND, where he worked in a general store. He later went to Hatton, ND where he worked in the same store with Ole Eielson, father of the famed aviator, Ben Eielson.

When he came to Barnesville about 50 years ago, he first worked for Tom Gunness for a time and then was employed in the clothing store of O. J. Aamodt for 17 years. He also owned and operated a grocery store in this city for a time.

Later he was elected city clerk, serving efficiently in that office for ten years.

On August 12, 1888 Mr. Borsheim was united in marriage to Miss Thea Nelson of Decorah, and they observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1938.
