| Jørand Skugrud went to America in 1871. Mrs. Halvor Pederson Rothsay, Minnesota Mrs. Pederson's maiden name was Jørand Syvertson Skugrud. She was born at Grenskogen, Sigdal, February 26, 1854. She is the daughter of Syvert Kristensen Skugrud and Ingbør Olsen, born Grønseth. She was confirmed by Pastor Stub in Holmen Church. She came to America in 1871 and was first in Dodge County, Minnesota. She was married a few years later. In 1878 they moved to Akron Township, Wilkin County, Minnesota, where they live on their well built-up farm and are prosperous. They have one son, Peder, who is at home with his parents.
