The following information was found in Rollag Norway in the book: NUMEDOLS OF AMERIKA, NUMEDALSLAGET AARBOK NO 10, 1924.
Eric Olsen was born the 19th of December of 1841 on the farm Fekjan. He was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Stoltenberg in Rollag. I worked many years on the farm Ovstrud and I became married to/with Anna Iversdatter born on the farm Hogrud in Rollag. I worked for a time and lived on the farm Hamre (Wamre?). It was kind people to stay by. In 1883 I traveled to Amerika and stayed at Rothsay, Mn Wilkin County.
Here I bought 40 acres of land which I still have and I lived there until my wife died in 1908. Then I moved to my sister Guri who is a widow and lives on a fine farm. I am in good health for my age so I can help them with the work. We have had six children: Ole, who died some years ago, Knut, Anna, Ingeborg who lived by Ross, North Dakota, Marie lives in Idaho, my oldest daughter Gunhild lives here & is married to Chris Syverson from Sigdal. I send a photograph of myself and my oldest daughter, Mrs. Chris Syverson and her daughter, Mrs. Ole Gronseth & her son whose name is Ambrose Gronseth.
