| Fredrik (Aarønaes) #949 born in Bolsø, Norway, last resided in Bolsø, Norway. Emigrated on 28/8 1890 with wife Maren and foster daughter Marthine Hoff. FREDRICK JOHNSON The advantages offered in America for honest industry to gain a footing in the social and financial life of her people has induced many to come to this country, where they have secured comfortable homes and have become substantial and worthy citizens. The Scandinavian peninsula has contributed a large percentage of this number and Norway has her full representation in this country. The gentleman above named has built up a home in Wilkin county, Minnesota, and is one of the energetic farmers of Akron township, and since coming to America has gained valuable financial possessions and enjoys the highest estem of his fellows. Mr. Johnson was born in Norway in 1848. His father, John Larson, followed farming in Norway and died several years ago. Our subject was reared in his native land and attended the common schools there and at the age of fifteen began earning his own way. He came to America in 1890, landing in Boston and from there came direct to Wilkin county, Minnesota. He bought a farm and built a small frame house, and began his farming with horses. He has now a farm of one hundred and sixty acres, on which he has erected good farm buildings and he has a pleasant and comfortable home and derives a good income from his farm each season. Mr. Johnson was married in 1879 to Miss Mary Doll (Maren Dahle). Mrs. Johnson was born in Norway in 1860 and her father, Elling Doll (Elling Dahle), was also a native of that country. He came to America in 1888 and located in Wilkin county, where he now resides. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are the parents of one child, a daughter, named Tillie, who was born in Norway in 1884. Mr. Johnson is identified with the Republican party politically and is a gentleman of broad mind and takes a commendable interest in local affairs and lends his influence for the upbuilding of the better interests of the community in which he makes his home.
