| Lewis Hovland When the young folks of the community started to migrate to North Dakota Lewis joined in filing a homestead in Fay Township in what was then Imperial Ward County. Lewis farmed three miles from Columbus until proof of claim was completed. Returning to this community to engage in farming about 1904. He farmed near Rothsay over a period of 44 years. He served as secretary of the South Immanuel Church for over 25 years and served as Clerk of School District 89 over 30 years. Lewis never married. | ||||||||||||||
