| �stfold FYLE (County) Spydeberg Area - Here you will find the Gronlund descendents of Andrew & Enger (Ellefsd.) Gronlund. Andreas or Andrew Thorers. Gronlund was born in Enebek Prgj. Norway on June 30, 1828. Andrew died June 26, 1907 near Rothsay, MN; he was 78. Buried in South Immanuel Cemetery, Rothsay, MN. Occupation Farmer. Andrew married Enger or Inger (Ellefsd.), who was born June 12, 1824 in Spydeberg Prgj. Norway. Enger Ellefsd. died July 31, 1896 near Rothsay, MN; she was 72. Buried in South Immanuel Cemetery, Rothsay, MN. Andrew & Enger Gronlund emigrated to USA in 1869 from Norway. They originally located in Rushford, MN and in 1871 came to Rothsay, MN. The Gronlund family came to the United State with their children, one died at sea and two others died shortly after arriving in Rushford, MN. The 1865 Census lists four children: Hans E. Andreass., Theodor Andreass., Karen Andreasd. and Augusta Andreasd. It is unclear whether there was a third brother that is referred to in an obituary, however, none of the children are named and it may have been a misprint. If there was the brother would have been born after 1865 and would have died at about age 3. They came to Rothsay in 1871 and took a homestead just north of that in Atherton Township.
