* Exported from MasterCook * BUTTER-NUT SUGAR COOKIES Recipe By : Serving Size : 96 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Cookies Holiday Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- -Dottie Cross TMPJ72B 1 c Firmly packed brown sugar 2 tb Firmly packed brown sugar 3 oz Neufchatel cheese (about 1/3 1/4 c Margarine -- softened 2 tb Margarine -- softened 2 tb Skim milk 1/2 ts Vanilla, butter, and nut fla -(just use plain vanilla ext -if you don't have) 1 Egg 3 c All-purpose flour 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Sifted powdered sugar 1 1/2 ts Water Food coloring (optional) Cream first 3 ingedients at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add milk and next 2 ingredients, and beat well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, beating well. Divide dough into 4 qual portions. Working with one portion of dough at a time, roll to 1/8-inch thickness on a well-floured surface; cover and refrigerate remaining dough. Cut dough with a 2-inch decorative cookie cutter; place cookies 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes; cool on wire racks. Repeat procedure with remaining dough. Combine powdered sugar, water, and food coloring, if desired; stir well. Spoon into a decorating bag fitted with a small round tip; pipe onto cookies. Yield: 8 dozen. (serving size: 1 cookie).
