INTRODUCTION

The print issue of this installment will arrive in the dead of winter so that you can relax and enjoy these pages of Finnell Family History and hopefully consider some materials you would like to contribute and share with the other cousins.

Part of this issue is the start of a new series of Family Lineages most from the questionnaires sent to Family members in the 1950/60s by Harry L Keller and found in the Keller Papers I obtained several years ago. In the files I discovered a early letter  from Mr Keller stating that he started his Finnell search in 1939 and the bulk of the papers I have date  from the 1950's and 60's. The "Genealogy sheets' were returned completed by contacted family members and Mr Keller in turn , at times made notes and additions to these sheets. Some of the notes do  contain errors done by Mr Keller, so if you see copies of these sheets do not assume they are correct, but verify the information. I have tried to list information that appears to be correct. The Lineages will I am sure be of interest to many and there are lots to use for future issue. I have also includes some forms that I received from more current Finnell Family Members and have used some of these. Many of these "sheets" have also been used to extend down 2 or more generations several Genealogies printed in earlier Issues. I hope to continue both these Lineages in future Issues. Your additions, notes and  corrections are always welcomed.

This last Fall I also had the first  eleven issues filmed for microfilm and michrfiche along with two other Finnell Items; Finnell Bible Records and Finnell Cemetery Transcripts Volume I 1993 and The Finnell Family 1802 - 1869 A Genealogy of the Thomas Finnell Family of Coshocton County, Ohio. Copies of this film can be  obtained from the editor if any one is interested and can donate them to a Regional Genealogical Library. At present copies of the publications are in the DAR and SAR Libraries, the Allen County Public Library, Sun City Az Genealogical Library, National Genealogical Society Library.

This issue also continues to have a number of older obituaries and newspaper articles on Family members. One was a very old obituary that had been hand copied and buried in a pile of old correspondence in the Keller Files. Needless to say gems continue to be discovered as I continue to sift and dig through what I have. If you have any old Obituaries, Anniversary write up or newspaper articles please share then with every one.

I would also like to see what we could discover as to the photograph of the oldest Finnell Ancestor. Copies can be made at any Kinko's Copy Center, ask for a color xerox copy. They are almost as good as the original and last a very long time. It would be fun to include some of these in future issues. Some family pictures on my family have been included on my Finnell Family web site at [http://www.Geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/3917]. More will be added in the future.

I again look forward to your comments and suggestions and hope that you will enjoy these few pages on the Finnell Family.

Some Finnell Lineages and Cousin connections

A new part for future issues of Loose Branches and Roots is a series of individual Lineages back to a Finnell Connection or possible 3 to 4 generations. I hope this will generate some more interest in finding missing Finnell Links and cousins and show connections to different parts of the Family Tree. Additional Lineages are always welcomed and encouraged.
