---Page 260 - "PEREGRINE WHITE (William) , born on board the Mayflower in Provincetown Harbor November 20, 1620; died at Marshfield, Massachusetts July 20, 1704; married about 1648 Sarah Bassett, born about 1630; died January 20, 1711-2, aged 81 years; daughter of William and Elizabeth Bassett.
---"Peregrine White came to Green Harbor (in Marshfield) with his stepfather Governor Edward Winslow after 1632. He settled on his estate given him by his father-in-law Bassett soon after his marriage lying between North and South Rivers, not far from their outlet to the ocean, a tract granted to Mr. Bassett by the colony. Peregrine soon became active in public affairs.
---Page 261 - "In 1637 he was one of the volunteers who offered to go `them (sic) Massachusetts Bay and Connecticut in their wars against the Pequins` (Pequots).
---"September 27, 1642 he was `auncient bearer` (bearer of the colors) in the expedition to be under the command of Miles Standish.
