We love to sing those wonderful songs about the blood. Do we truly understand the meaning of the words we are singing? There is power, power, wonder working power, in the blood of the Lamb. What is wonder working power? It's the power to work wonders in our midst. It's the power to cast out devils, heal the sick and raise the dead. We don't see as many miracles today as we need to be seeing. It's time to talk about the blood of Jesus. It's time to preach about the blood of Jesus. It's time to apply the blood of Jesus to the doorposts of our hearts.
Rom. 3:23-25 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Jesus took our place. He took our sin upon himself when He hung upon the cross at Calvary. He who knew no sin became sin for us. Jesus never sinned. He was the perfect sacrifice offered up to God on our behalf. He didn't have to die. Scripture says, He could have called thousands of angels to come to His rescue, but He didn't. In order for us to be saved, Jesus knew He had to submit to the Father's will. Going to the cross was the Father's will for Jesus. Many today say, "We don't have to suffer." Paul said, "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings..."
There are times when God allows us to go through suffering, trials, and tribulation. That's reality. Look at the martyrs that were tortured and burned at the stake in the early 1600's, 1700's, and 1800's. Many of these mighty men of God were singing praises to the Lord as they were burning at the stake. Did they have a give up mentality? Did they complain and murmur all the way to the place of execution? No. They proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they walked to the place of execution. They preached Jesus to those that were standing by watching. What a testimony! What a witness of the power of God that is upon the lives of those who truly love Him and are willing to give their lives for Him. Are you willing to give your life for Jesus? How much do you love Him? If you love Him, you will be willing to do whatever needs to be done in order to serve Him.
I believe there are different anointings that God places upon His people according to whatever need we may have at that particular time. Sometimes, we need a healing anointing to be upon us, so we can lay hands on the sick and see them recover. Sometimes, we need boldness to stand up and declare His goodness and proclaim His promises to a lost and dying world. We need holy boldness to stand up and witness to those who would mock and ridicule us. I believe these special anointings equip us to fulfill His plans and purposes in our lives. I believe God placed a "special anointing" upon those martyrs of old as they were taken to those places of execution and torture. I truly believe there is a special anointing that God gives to those who are willing to lay their lives down for Him. How else could they sing hymns and praises to God, when their arms were falling off into the flames of fire? There was an anointing upon these mighty men of God. It was a martyr anointing. An anointing that enabled them to stand in the face of persecution, and do it unafraid. Church, we don't have to fear what man can do to us. Our God is greater! Greater is He that is within us, than He that is within the world!
1 John 1:7 - If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from ALL sin, not some of our sin. We can be forgiven, no matter what we've done, His blood can cleanse us and wash us white as snow. This doesn't give us a license to sin.
1 John 5:18 - We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
If we are truly born again(saved), we will not continue to sin against the Lord. We will keep ourselves unspotted from the world and the lust of it. We will walk in holiness and righteousness because God will give us the grace and the power to do it. When we are obedient to do all that God has told us to do, the evil one cannot touch us. He has no power over us. Eph. 1:7 - In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
He has redeemed us by His blood. He bought us back from the clutches of the evil one. Jesus paid the price for our redemption with His own blood. We belong to Jesus! We are no longer slaves to the devil and the demons of hell. We've been bought with a price - the precious blood of Jesus.
The blood that Jesus shed on Calvary is still flowing from that cross today. When I shut my eyes and think about what Jesus did for me, I can see that crimson flow of blood. I can see His nail scarred hands and feet. I can see where they pierced His side. I can see the love of My Savior as He hung on the cross for me. Oh, how it makes me love Him more and more and more. I should have been the one hanging on that cross. But thank God, He was the propitiation for my sin. He was the propitiation for your sin. He took our place. He bore our punishment. He became that perfect sacrifice that was needed in order to redeem man from his fallen condition. Thank God, He made a way for us to come into His presence once again! Thank God, we can come boldly before the throne of grace and make our petitions known unto Him. Thank God, He loved us enough to lay His life down for us, so we could be saved. Oh what love!
We don't understand the love of the Father the way we need to understand it, but I believe God wants to show His love to us. He wants us to love Him in return. Love is willing to go the extra mile. Love doesn't give up in the midst of adverse situations. Love fights to the end. The Father gave all He had to give, now it's our turn to give back to Him. Are you willing? "I don't have much to give God." Give yourself to Him. Give Him your life and then serve Him. He doesn't ask for what we don't have, He asks us to give Him what we do have. He wants YOU, friend. He doesn't care how much money you have, He wants you. He doesn't care how much stock you have invested in, He cares about you. He doesn't want what you don't have, He wants you to give Him what you do have. Little is much when God is in it.
Lay your burdens down at the foot of the cross today and allow His blood to wash them all away. Allow His blood to cleanse you from all sin and make you whole. Many of you have been hurt and wounded, allow His blood to make you whole. You don't have to stay in bondage to all those hurts. Jesus wants to heal you. He wants to touch those wounded places in your life with His nail scarred hands. He knows what it's like to suffer and be in pain. He has walked that lonely road. He feels your pain and heartache. Allow Him to touch you today. Give it all to Jesus. Stop fighting against Him. You need a friend. He will be that friend that sticks closer than a brother. He will be that friend who will never leave you nor forsake you. He will be a friend who will never let you down. You need Jesus. Receive all that He did for you at Calvary. Accept Him. He loves you. He's waiting for you to come.
