Congratulations!
So you've made it through another year.

It's a wonderful privilege to be a mother.
You may not think this way as you read this devotional,
But you are blessed!
God has given you a "real" ministry.
Children are a heritage from the Lord.
He has entrusted you with a special ministry
Of raising your children for Him.

Since most children look up to their parents,
We must be sure that we are setting a "good" example for them.
If we tell them not to smoke, drink, and watch dirty movies,
We better be sure that we are not doing these things either.
We can't say one thing and do another.
This will bring confusion to the child
And eventually give the child an excuse to sin.
Have you ever heard your child say,
"Well, how come I can't do it?
I see you do it all the time!"

God is calling all of us to a "higher place" in Him.
If we want to see our children serving the Lord in these last days,
We must be an example to them.
They are watching us more than they are listening to us.

If you're struggling today with this issue,
Be encouraged and take heart,
Because the Lord God is your helper.
You may not be doing everything exactly right,
But when you are giving it your best shot,
I believe that the Lord is well pleased with your effort.

If you've made mistakes in the past,
Don't live under condemnation.
Repent, and put all those mistakes under the blood of Jesus.
He forgives and forgets,
So why don't you do the same thing.
I would also suggest that you repent to your children.
Humble yourself before them
And you will be amazed at how quickly they will forgive you.
They might even give you a big hug.

God's not finished with any of us yet!
He's still working.
So mothers, be encouraged today.
You're probably doing a better job than you think that you are.
