Laughter is Good Medicine
By: Donna J. Kazenske

Prov. 17:22 - A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Laughter is good medicine. Some of us need more medicine than others. :-)

Laughter is even good for bad situations. It helps relieve stress and dries up the tears. Laughter is not a way to avoid our problems or deny the seriousness of them, but it will sure help us cope with them.

I've been in meetings where the Holy Spirit is moving with much laughter in the camp. Oh, what a blessing to see God's people laughing and enjoying themselves. No one likes to be around sour faces too long. It has a tendency to get on you (if you know what I mean). Well, laughter does the same thing! It's catchy. It bubbles out of one person and finds its way to another person. Before long, you've got several people laughing their heads off. :-)

Dr. Annette Goodheart has said, "The reality isn't that we laugh because we're happy; we're happy because we laugh."

Medical experts tell us that three to five minutes of belly laughing equals three minutes of strenuous exercise on a rowing machine. So, what a great way to lose weight!

SET FREE TO LAUGH

Psalm 126:1-2-When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter.

When the Lord brings us out of bondage (captivity), we will surely end up laughing and proclaiming the good news to all those around us.

THE LORD LAUGHS

Psalm 2:4 - He who sits in the heavens shall laugh...

The Lord Himself enjoys a good laugh once in a while. He sits in the heavens and laughs at His enemies. Maybe we should start laughing at our enemies. :-) He is our example. Amen?

I say it's time for the body of Christ to have a good laugh. Laughter is free. It doesn't cost us anything. Some people might think we are crazy, but if we laugh long enough, maybe they'll join us! :-)

Enjoy your time with the Lord. Enjoy the time that you have in this life. No matter how difficult times may be, there's always hope. There's always someone else going through something much worse than you. There's always something to rejoice about, so remember to give God the glory.

HUMOROUS THOUGHTS AND JOKES:

Laughing helps. It's like jogging on the inside.

If you can remain calm, you just don't have all the facts.

You know you're getting old when you stoop to tie your shoes and wonder what else you can do while you're down there.

Red meat is NOT bad for you. Now, blue-green meat, that's REALLY BAD for you.
