Monkshood

(Latin: Aconitum)

Monkshood are tall spikes of hooded blue flowers. All parts of the plant are poisonous if eaten.

Height: 2-6 feet (60-175cm)
Blooms: Mid-Summer to Fall
Varieties: Barker's Variety; Bressingham Spire
Propagation: Seeds can be sown in spring. Division is difficult so it is better to leave clumps undisturbed.
Light: Moderate Sun to Partial Shade
Soil: Should be planted in light, well-drained soil that has been deeply cultivated
