I am from a branch of the Beers family that prospered
in southern Wisconsin (sadly, I am the last of that line with the name). I have a fair amount of material which is accurate back
until about the 1860s (my great-grandfather, John Beers, was a blacksmith in Honey Creek, WI), as well as some indirect
information going back through PA to CT and MA in the 1600s. The family is tied very closely to the Crites family, which
same is documented in "The Crites Family -- Pioneer Family of Wisconsin", written by my second cousin Dean Crites. (Much
of this info. is contained in the archives of the Wisconsin Historical Society). The two families intermarried several times. Dean
and Dale Crites, identical twins, were my father's first cousins and were pioneer aviators in the early part of the century. The
Waukesha (WI) county Airport is now named Crites Field in honor of one of them (don't know which).
