William Rigby (c1775-1834) and Mary _______ (1774-aft.1850)
William Rigby was born sometime before 1775 in North Carolina. William married Mary _______ about 1790, and by 1796 had immigrated to
Hancock Co., GA, where he appeared there in a tax list and in the membership of Fulsom Creek Baptist Church. By 1801, William owned land in nearby Warren Co.,
where he raised his family. William Rigby and son-in-law David Rowe moved to Monroe Co., GA during the mid-1820s, and by 1830 both had moved west to Troup
Co. William Rigby died soon after his will was drafted in Troup Co. on June 2, 1834, in which David Rowe was named executor. William's widow Mary lived in Troup
Co. with her unmarried daughter Mary until her own death after 1850. See a transcript of William Rigby's 1834 will.
