William Everett (c1755-1774) and Laviah ______

William Everett was born ca. 1700, place unknown. By 1723 he was a landowner on the north side of the Chowan River in Chowan County, North Carolina, along with neighbor and presumed relative Nathaniel Everett (an older brother?). During this period he married Laviah _______ in Chowan Co., but in May of 1732, William bought a 320-acre tract of land in the Bertie Precinct on the south side of the Marotoke River. William and Laviah raised their family there in the area that became Halifax/Tyrrell Counties, and later Martin County, and here William penned his will dated December 20, 1774, and probated in 1776.
