Children of Wilburn Anderson Rucker and Eva Howard

Wilburn Anderson Rucker enlisted 2 July, 1917 at Morrillton, AR. in Company D, Third Arkansas Regiment, and was sent to Fort Logan H. Roots; then to Camp Beauregard, LA, 2 Sept. 1917. Company changed to Co. D, 154th Infantry, 39th Division. Transferred overseas, shipping from Camp Merritt, NJ, 7 June, 1918, on S.S. "Manchuria," landing at Saint Nazaire, France, 20 June 1918. Sent to front lines, 3 July 1918, with Co. L, 30th Inf., 3rd Div. Fought in the following battles: Marne, Vesle, LeCharmel, Saint Miheil, Meuse, Argone Forest. Wounded in left leg9 Oct. 1918. Was in the Army of Occupation, 16 Dec, 1918 until 18 aug. 1919. Sailed from Brest, France, 20 Aug, 1919, on S.S. "Sol-Navis." Was discharged from the Army, 5 Sept. 1919 and received #30 per month pension because of total disability.

6. Wilburn Anderson Rucker (b. 4 Oct. 1895, Aplin, Perry Co., AR) m. 4 Oct. 1922, Aplin, Perry Co., AR to Eva HOWARD (b. 18 April, 1904), dau. of Samuel W. HOWARD and Martha; they had: Nelda, Wilene, Weston, Wilma Doris, Martha Ann.
