Former Markton Man Dies in Kittanning

  Godfrey N. Burkett, 68, former well known resident of Markton, died Thursday afternoon in the Kittanning Hospital following a month's illness.  Before moving to Dayton six years ago, he had lived all his life in Markton.
  The deceased was born November 9, 1880, the son of Joseph and Lydia (Thomas) Burkett, and was united in marriage to Katherine Hartman, who died nine years ago.  He later married Nine Enterline.
  Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters; Mrs. John Gahagan, Mrs. Clayton Neal, Homer, Emery, Cyril and Eugene Burkett and Mrs. Ashley Gray, all of Youngstown, Ohio, and Capt Ray Burkett, of Fort Breckenridge, KY. 
  He also leaves 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and these brothers and sisters; Mrs Della Burkett, of Markton; Mrs. Nora Icher, of Yatesboro; Mrs. Frank Miller and Merle Burkett, of Akron; Mrs. Brook Shaffer, of Covode; Harry Burkett, of Anita, and Add Burkett, of Cloe.
  Funeral services will be held in the Ringgold Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the Ringgold Cemetary.  The Rev J.W. Dempler will officiate.  Friends will be received in the 
Morrison Funeral Home here until time for services.
