FELINE INFECTIOUS ENTERITIS:
Also known as distemper or feline panleukopenia. This is a deadly disease and can be passed on to other cats that in comes in contact with. Signs of this disease are high fever,weight loss, depression,dehydration, vomiting, diarrheaand intense thrist. The only wat to stop this disease is to have your cat or kitten vaccinated.
RABIES:
Rabies is an old and familiar disease to everyone who has owned an animal. It is also one of the deadliest. Today it is rare among domestic cats. Rabies is a highly contagious disease and can be spread animal to animal also animal to humans. Animals with Rabies act and appear to be abnormally aggressive. Your feline should be vacinated.
FIP=FELINE INFECTIOUS PERITONITIS:
This disease is one of the most deadliest diseases to a cat. It is passed cat to cat. Sometimes there are no obvious symptons shown. Sometimes they will show symptems such as fever, weight loss, depression, and loss of appetite. The best to prevent this disease is to keep your cat from coming in contact with cats. If you bring a cat home that has not been tested for this, you should keep it away from other cats in the home untill you have it tested.
FVR=FELINE VIRAL RHINOTRACHEITIS:
These are upper respiratory disease viruses. It is a type o fcold that affects kittens and cats. This disease is a long lasting one,if a kitten gets this disease it can keep it for the rest of its life. It can make some cats miserable for many years. This disease can only spread from cat to cat. Humans can not catch it. Symptoms are loss of appetite,depression,sneezing,discharge from the eyes and the nose, sores in the mouth.
FELINE LEUKEMIA:
Leukemia often goes undected because it can take differnt forms. Some signs are emaciation,lack of
immunal defenses, swelling of the lymph nodes,anemia. Leukemia is incurable. Infected animals must be
kept away from healthy ones. Your kitten or any cat you bring into your home should be tested.
There is no vaccine or cure for this disease.
Aujesky's Disease:
This disease is from feeding a cat raw or partially cooked pork or beef. There is no cure and the results are death. This is a disease a responsible owner can prevent. Abnormal behavior along with itching is a characteristic symptons (but not always).
