THE PERSIAN (who owns who?)
I am frequently asked about the personalities of my cats. I reply "Independent when they want to be. Tempermental and also demanding." Each of my cats have their own personalities. I have one that only wants petted when I am reading or doing the laundry. The others want attention all the time. I was told when I purchased my first Persian that they were not high strung cats, they were quite and liked to keep to them selves. I assure that is not the case with mine. They play and play. They are very vocal at feeding time and when the call for each other. But I love every minute of it.
Remember your cat will have it's own character and you will have an important roll in developing that personality. You should allow allow your cat the freedom to play and explore it's enviroment. You should talk to your cat in a soft voice(baby talk)especially a kitten. Have patience with your cat. If you have breakables in your home then they will be broken. They don't know a 5 cent vace from a 100 dollar one. It was in their play space.
Persian cats love be petted. They express their gratued by purring, kneeding, snuggling and rolling around for their whole bodies to petted and scratched. While petting your cat dont forget to examine it at the same time.
Some cats will talk back to you by cooing or sqeeking when spoken to. This will help your cat bond with you if you speak to them in a qiute manor. Playing: My cats love crumpled paper. Take a piece out of printer crumple it up toss it on the floor. Watch them play. They are lively, spirited and like to play. You don't have to spend alot on toys for your cat they will play with just about anything. A small ball, coke caps, milk lids, be creative. Make sure they toy can not be swalloed by the cat.
