This is a matboard covered with a machined crazy quilt piece of fabric. Choose different textures, colors, patterns to achieve the type of look you want. ( Mine has velvet, flannel and others ) My pieces were machine appliqed together. Let your imagination run wild as far as accessorizing. Some joined areas are covered with braided ribbon, some with purchased trims. Use buttons etc. as final trim. Glue fabric created to matboard by pulling and gluing middle section on all four sides to back of board. Cut out center of picture viewing area, leaving enough fabric to pull to back for gluing. Use heavy cardboard for a back and cover with fabric. Glue back to front on three sides, leaving top open to insert photo. This is a "nutshell" explanation so if you don't understand my abbreaviated directions feel free to e-mail and I will go into more detail with the instructions. That oh so adorable image in the frame is my grandson, ERIC. |

The basic procedure for this frame is the same as the one above. "Fabric" created this time was different color, size and type of ribbons woven in a basketweave pattern. The whole thing is accented with shiny braid around the outside. |

This frame is one of those cheap, cheap garage sale types. The cheaper the better. Buttons of different colors, styles, sizes are glued to frame in staggered layers. The mat in this instance is made using heavy cardboard, covering with wrinkled brown paper bag. Leave enough brown paper on four sides of opening to fold outwards imitating an opening. The photo in this one is my grandson K.J. |

This was created using two pieces of plexiglass. ( provided by my nice son-in-law). I glued flowers that I had pressed to back piece of plexiglass. Use very small amounts of clear drying glue. A "pocket" for the photo was created using gltter glue on three sides of photo area. I drilled holes in the plexiglass and glued upholtery tacks through, maintaining space between the sheets off plexi. Stand is made with cut pieces of plexiglass with notches. Edges of stand were painted with metallic gold acrylic paint. Purchased gold trim is glued around whole frame. Those tiny people in the photo are son, Scott, daughter-in-law, Sue and grandson, Eric, when he was a baby. |
