Date of birth is about 1780. Robert came to America as a young man. Married Nancy ?? Hubard (Not sure of last name) in NC OR SC. Records show that 4 of the children were born in SC and 1 born in NC. The youngest Edward B. 13 Sept 1823 was born in SC. After that date, Robert moved his family to Hardin County, Tn to the old home place now owned by Kenneth B. Greer, Rt 1, B x 61A, Michie, Tn 38357. This is the site that the six kids and Nancy stayed. Barlett stayed on the home place after he married. He raised his family there also. Kenneth is from Bartlett's line. Myrtle Greer Christy, the youngest daughter of John Riley Greer, said that her great grandfather, Robert was born in Ireland. Nancy: Both 1850 & 1860 Hardin County, TN Census had Nancy Greer in the home of her Son Bartlett. 1840 Wilson Co, TN had Nancy Greer as head of household. There is some question as to Na cy's last name. Children: 2. i Jesse A. born 1810 in SC. 3. ii Catherine born 1 OCT 1812 in NC. 4. iii Josiah Tidwell born 4 JAN 1813 in SC. 5. iv Martha Jane born 28 MAR 1815 no record of state. 6. v Bartlett K. born 1 OCT 1821 in SC. 7. vi Edward B. born 13 SEP 1823 in SC. The 1810 census should have male 30, female 26 and male one year or less and possible no children as Jesse A. was born in 1910 in SC. The 1820 census should have male 40, female 36, male 10, female 8, male 7, female 5. Bartlett was born in 1821 in SC and Edward B in 1823 in SC. The 1830 census should have male 50, female 46, male 20, female 18, male 17, female 15, male 9 and male 7. This census could have female 46 with no male 50, husband has gone back to NC and was killed by Indians. |
