Part VII. A Guide to Pre-Apocalypse Robots

Robot Types

Anthropomorphic Robots

See the Androids! Section. Anthropomorphic (or human-like) robots can be created similar to Standard Cyberellum Androids.

Vehicular Robots

By the end of the 22nd century, the term "Robot" came to mean anything automated that assisted man in the performance of menial or dangerous duties. In game terms, the robots that were constructed were little more than computer driven vehicles. For this reason, the chassis and the CPU must be developed separately and then united to gain the full description of the robot.

STANDARD ON-BOARD COMPUTER:

The following is the standard option for all vehicular robots. Depending on the original functions assigned to the unit, skills and talents may be added or even taken away as required. The number of programs that may be stored and executed is equal to the computer's INT score.

Armor: 3rPD / 6rED Internal

The standard on-board computer may hold up to a number of commands (equal to the unit's INT score) that can be programmed by Overseer units which possess the proper access codes or by Android or Human Engineers with the same codes. Humans who have the proper access codes may program older units.

In addition, Robots may have any Enhanced Senses that are listed in the 4th Edition HERO Rulebook, including a myriad of Detect possibilities based on the unit's function(s). Some more common applications include IR Vision, UV Vision, Ultrasonic Hearing, Radar, and Targeting Hearing. Many Robots will be equipped with sensors used to detect and identify duty-specific items and/or activities (the Sense power).
