WASTELAND HERO

NO-MAN'S LAND PBeM

By Chiral Man

REQUIREMENTS

  1. A copy of the HERO Systems Rules Book (Champions 4th Edition).
  2. Access to the Internet, especially the Web Dice Server. This isn't really a requirement, just a luxury. The PBeM can still be played by those without access, an alternative method of dice rolling is available.
  3. Completed and updated character sheets and paper to take notes on.
  4. Players must have access to their own e-mail account (of course). However, most play will be done in real time using ICQ (www.icq.com) this service is free, just download the software and contact me via my nickname "Chiral Man", I'm the only one so it won't be a problem.
  5. Players must have an e-mail service that accepts attachments in both document and graphic forms.
  6. Players must be willing to spend some time on a "weekly" basis for a game session that may last up to two hours (not including "delivery time" and "response time" so go ahead and run to the store after you hit "send"). Times and dates will be agreed upon in advance to assure the availability to everyone involved. There will be many leniencies to this, however, the flow of the game will depend on player (and GM) availability. Games need not be played "with everyone present", but a timely turn-around is the goal to keep sessions consistent.
  7. The privacy of any e-mail addresses given must be respected.
  8. A rudimentary mode of conduct will be established (grunt grunt). Any inappropriate references to race, creed, color or sex will result in expulsion from the game (and a horrific ending to that nard's PC, heh heh). In short, behave yourselves over the net, some of us have family members that are allowed to read our stuff.

HOUSE RULES

  1. Combat and non-combat situations will be performed in accordance to the HERO Systems Rules Book (Champions 4th Edition).
  2. The Web Dice Server will be used to handle all dice rolls. Prior to each session, I may require a "bull sheet" which is a collection of pre-generated rolls per character. This will help quicken the game by giving me access to dice rolls for such things as PER rolls and the like. All combat and any critical rolls will be made at the time the narrative requires it to be made.
  3. An attempt will be made to keep the actual score needed to accomplish a task a mystery.

  4. The GM may take certain liberties (rare) with the rules in order to further the enjoyment of the players and make the game more exciting.
  5. The GM will have a copy of all character sheets and items possessed by a character. If the item isn't on the sheet, the character will not be able to use it. The GM will be keeping track of the character's status and the status of any items on the character's person.
  6. Players are encouraged to take creative freedoms in regards to their character's personalities, actions, reactions, speech and motivations. They may assist in the narrative as to what they intend to accomplish due to their actions or inaction. When responding to a situation, the player should do their best to capture the moment in a descriptive style that will benefit all who read the post.
  7. The roles of all NPCs are left for the GM. Players should take the proper caution when basing any actions they may take on how they think NPCs should respond.
  8. The GM will contact, through ICQ and/or e-mail, individual participants when only that participant will gain information or insight. It will be up to that player whether or not he or she desires to share that with the other participants.

Any comments or questions will be entertained. If all the above terms are agreeable,

then E-MAIL ME so we can get this party started!
